Tracking  

Tracking, as a skill, is common to many different MMORPG's and is usually restricted to the scout-rogue-thief archetypes.

Generally, it allows the tracker to detect the presence of mobs beyond visual range and, in some manner, lead their party directly to it.

In EverQuest, the Ranger is the only class that can sort their Tracking list by various filters such as name, distance or level/strength.
