Tell (FFXI Command)
|
| Alias | /t |
|---|---|
| Usage | /tell (playername) (message) |
| Description | Sends a private message to a player. In order to receive a tell, the player has to:
|
| Example | /tell Bob Can I borrow your polearm? |
| Related Commands | Say Shout Party Linkshell |
Notes
- It is possible to hear a chime when you receive a tell in game, thereby reducing the number of "missed tells" while afk, etc. To turn this option on, go to the in-game menu's second page, Config -> Chat Filters. Select TELL until you see a music note next to that option. You will then hear a chime each time you receive a tell afterward.
- To quickly reply to people who have sent you tells, hit CTRL-R to bring up the tell command with the name of the last player to send you a tell already filled in. To respond to people who might have sent you earlier tells, continue to hold down CTRL and tap the R key to cycle through a list of names, where applicable.
