MP  

An abbreviation of Magic Points.

Magic Points are used when a spell is cast.
Although commonly referred to, and indeed listed under 'Spells' on the in-game menu, the following abilities are not spells, and therefore do not cost Magic Points to use.

• Bard songs
• Ninjutsu

Black Mages "2 hour" ability Manafont enables them to cast without MP being spent.

Magic Points are recovered by use of:

• Natural Healing (/heal, ctrl-H commands)
• Sanction and Sigil both have an optional Refresh component for an additional fee.
• Refresh
• Mage's Ballad and Mage's Ballad II
• Evoker's Roll
• Drinking juices, such as Apple Juice, or Pineapple Juice
• Certain Weapon Skills restore MP, these are - Energy Steal, Energy Drain, Starlight, Moonlight, Mystic Boon and Spirit Taker.
• Entering your Mog House or changing your current Job at a Nomad Moogle will also replenish your MP.
