Level range denotes the general range of monster levels within the zone, which is not necessarily a recommended range to hunt there. Some groups can hunt in these zones earlier that the level range and some beyond the level range, all depending on your group's strengths or weaknesses.

Contested
Contested zones are shared by all players within the zone.

Instanced
These zones are a special instance that is used only by your group.
Scaling
Scaling zones are all instanced zones. They have a minimum level required to access them but should always scale to the current level cap. The level of mobs inside these zones will use the group's average level when determining their base level.
