Guild Marks (FFXIV)

Guild Marks are a currency used throughout Eorzea to purchase abilities, traits, and items from the various guilds. These abilities and traits are interchangeable within the various classes, making them a useful way of customizing your character. Like any other form of currency in Eorzea, your guild marks can be viewed from your Inventory menu under the Currency tab.

Obtaining Guild Marks

All Guild Marks are obtained by doing Guildleves. There are various requirements in order to do this, but they currently are all leve-rewards only.

DOW/DOM/DOL Guild Marks

Marks for Disciples of War, Magic and Land are awarded from rank 20 and above Regional and Faction Guildleves. In order for you to qualify for a Guild Mark reward, your class must be rank 10 or above. The Guild Mark rewards are appointed completely randomly based on your rank 10+ classes. This means that if you have 5 classes at rank 10, the rank 20 leves will randomly pick any one of those five classes to award Guild Marks (when indeed the Leve reward is Marks). The awarding of guild marks at all vs. items, money, or gear is also completely random.

In order to receive your Guild Mark reward from the Leve, you must be on the class which is to be awarded the marks. Completion of a levequest as a class other than that designated by the guildleve will yield less guild marks. Sometimes none at all depending on the rank disparity.

There is a limit on which class will be awarded Guild Marks, however.

Guild Mark Reward Requirements by Tier
Guildleve Rank Minimum Class Rank
Guildleve Rank 20 Class Rank 10
Guildleve Rank 30 Class Rank 20
Guildleve Rank 40 Class Rank 30

Disciple of the Hand Guild Marks

DoH Guild Mark awards for Local Leves work a little differently than Regional. You will not be told when accepting a leve if it will award you guild marks or not. Not only that, but the actual awarding of the marks itself seems to be somewhat random.

In order to be awarded Guild Marks for your crafter, you must be doing a rank 15 or above Local Leve. Your guild marks will be listed in the list of rewards along with shards/crystals/materials. You will not receive a gil reward if you receive marks.

Marks for your crafter will not come easy. Expect to put in serious time and effort in order to be able to begin purchasing your crafter's training books. Make sure you're doing the Rank 15+ Local Leves every 36 hours.

Also, don't expect to start getting a lot of guild marks until you're in your mid 20's, and have access to rank 15, 20, and 25 Guildleves, at least.
