The Beginning:

• The Dragons of Norrath expansion was announced on January 11, 2005, and went live on February 15, 2005. The initial expansion announcement may be found here. The initial patch message may be found here.

What's Going On:

• A series of events has transpired across the world of Norrath and the familiar faces of Firiona Vie and her nemesis Lanys T`Vyl return to find themselves at the forefront of these events. Unbeknownst to them, a dark influence has seeped into the world of Norrath causing new tensions to arise and conflicts to intensify as the dawn of a new age emerges. The Age of War is upon the people of Norrath and heroes return in this ultimate, unending battle between good and evil.
• A gnome mining expedition has managed to dig their way through the northern mountains in Lavastorm. They came upon the dragon nesting grounds, a previously unexplored part of northeastern Antonica which is full of Nest dragons, dragonkin and goblins; and thriving with wildlife.

What's New:

• The Guild Hall is your guild's own instanced zone, including guild bank, a portal to many druid/wizard destinations, and buff stoppage.
• The Guild Lobby (now available to everyone) is a place for guilds to recruit and for players to summon their corpses.
• New Models: Dragons, Stone Sentinels, Kirins, Drakes, Spiders, Pumas, Dervishes.
• New AAs retrieved through Dragons of Norrath progression.

Progression:

• In order to progress through this expansion, you would be advised to pick a faction and stick with it. You have two to choose from: The good-aligned Norrath's Keepers or the evil-aligned Dark Reign. Neither faction has any effect on any other zones in EverQuest.
• Both factions have camps set up in the network of caves in Lavastorm's north. In addition to these two camps, there is a group of Wayfarers to the south-southeast of the caves who also offer tasks.
• Completing tasks (both groups and raids) yields X amount of Radiant Crystals or Ebon Crystals, which can be used to purchase items and augmentations from adventure merchants Tatsujiro the Serene (for the Norrath's Keepers) and Xeib Darkskies (for the Dark Reign).
• Faction is gained by completing tasks and turning in the token you receive after each task. These tokens are LORE, so you need to make the turn-in after each task completed for maximum faction gains.
  • Norrath's Keepers Tokens are turned in to Tatsujiro the Serene.
  • Dark Reign Tokens are turned in to Xeib Darkskies.

Travel to the Dragons of Norrath:

• The Broodlands are entered through the cave system in Lavastorm's north.

• Guild Lobby (all levels; entered through the Plane of Knowledge)
• Guild Hall (all levels; entered through the Guild Lobby; must be guilded)
• The Broodlands (40th-60th level; entered through the northern caves of Lavastorm)

Dragons of Norrath Progression (Norrath's Keepers)

Quest details can be found here. This is a brief rundown of Norrath's Keepers progression:

• Progression pre-requisite: Reach indifferent faction with the Norrath's Keepers.
  • Do so by doing solo or group tasks offered by Wayfarers Mercenaries Elanye and Bitral, or NPCs in the Norrath's Keepers camp.

• Once your faction is indifferent, begin Tier 1.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag.
  • Hail Private Nylaen Kel`Ther.
    • Complete the task Creating an Antidote.
    • Complete the task Burning Arrows.
    • Complete the task Greed of the Goblins.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag.
  • Hail Keeper Dilar Nelune.
    • Complete the task Children of Gimblax.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive two AAs and the AA Gift of the Keepers.

• Once your faction is amiable, begin Tier 2.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag (you are also now able to request the Tirranun raid).
  • Hail Private Nylaen Kel`Ther.
    • Complete the task Turn the Tides of the Sand.
    • Complete the task Recover the Lost Map.
    • Complete the task Defend the Kirin Contact.
  • Hail Keeper Dilar Nelune.
    • Complete the task Sickness of the Spirit.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag.
  • Hail Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor.
  • Loot a Glowing Stone Fragment from Emoush the Destroyer in the Calling Emoush raid task.
    • Side Note: You need only participate and loot the item; you do not have to be the one who requested the raid.
  • Hail and give the Glowing Stone Fragment to Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag, two AAs, the AA Valor of the Keepers, and your 69th level spell/tome.

• Once your faction is high amiable, begin Tier 3.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag.
  • Hail Private Nylaen Kel`Ther.
    • Complete the task Protect the Waters.
    • Complete the task The Sacred Scrolls.
    • Complete the task Snowfoot Revenge.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag).
  • Hail Keeper Dilar Nelune.
    • Complete the task History of the Isle.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag).
  • Hail Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor.
  • Loot Lava Spider Spinners from Volkara in the Volkara's Bite raid task.

• Once your faction is kindly, begin Tier 4.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag.
  • Hail Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor.
  • Loot Quintessence of Sand from Shogurei in the Guardian of the Sands raid task.
    • Side Note: You need only participate and loot the item; you do not have to be the one who requested the raid.
  • Give the Quintessence of Sand to Chieftain Relae Aderi for a character flag.
  • Loot Meditation Stone from Storm Reach Sensei in the Goblin Dojo raid task.
    • Side Note: You need only participate and loot the item; you do not have to be the one who requested the raid.
  • Give the Meditation Stone to Chieftain Relae Aderi for a character flag.
  • Loot Yar'Lir's Fang from Yar'Lir the Matriarch in the An End to the Storms raid task.
    • Side Note: You need only participate and loot the item; you do not have to be the one who requested the raid.
  • Give Yar'Lir's Fang to Chieftain Relae Aderi for a character flag, two AAs, and the AA Power of the Keepers.

• Once your faction is warmly, begin Tier 5.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag.
  • Hail Keeper Dilar Nelune.
    • Complete the task Origins of the Curse.
    • Recieve a flag after task's completion.
  • Hail Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor.
  • Loot Diseased Wing Fragment from Ju`rek the Corrupted in The Curse of Ju`rek raid task.
    • Side Note: You need only participate and loot the item; you do not have to be the one who requested the raid.
  • Give the Diseased Wing Fragment to Chieftain Relae Aderi.
  • Hail Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive a flag.
  • Hail Lieutenant Ekiltu Verlor.
  • Loot Shadowscale of Vishimtar from Vishimtar the Fallen in In the Shadows raid task.
    • Side Note: You need only participate and loot the item; you do not have to be the one who requested the raid.
  • Give Shadowscale of Vishimtar to Chieftain Relae Aderi to receive your final AA in Dragons of Norrath, Sanctity of the Keepers.

Dragons of Norrath Progression (Dark Reign)

Quest details can be found here. This is a brief rundown of Dark Reign progression:

• Progression pre-requisite: Reach indifferent faction with the Dark Reign
  • Do so by doing solo or group tasks offered by Wayfarers Mercenaries Jeryx and Varein, or NPCs in the Dark Reign camp.

• Once your faction is indifferent, begin Tier 1.
  • Hail Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive a flag.
  • Hail Officer Sirrikis Ryktor.
    • Complete the task Blood of the Basilisk.
    • Complete the task Clearing the Path.
    • Complete the task The Burning Poison.
  • Hail Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive a flag.
  • Hail Officer Vacax Rol`Tas.
    • Complete the task Have Note Will Travel.
  • Hail Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive two AAs and the AA Gift of the Dark Reign.

• Once your faction is amiable, begin Tier 2.
  • Hail Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive a flag (you are also now able to request the Tirranun raid).
  • Hail Officer Sirrikis Ryktor.
    • Complete the task Army of Stone.
    • Complete the task Blood from Sand.
    • Complete the task Reap the Kirin Mind.
  • Hail Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive a flag.
  • Officer Vacax Rol`Tas.
    • Complete the task Drake Eggs.
  • Hail Captain Aleeth Zyrv.
  • Loot a Glowing Stone Fragment from Emoush the Destroyer in the Calling Emoush raid task.
    • Side Note: You need only participate and loot the item; you do not have to be the one who requested the raid.
  • Hail and give the Glowing Stone Fragment to Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive a flag, two AAs, the AA Tenacity of the Dark Reign, and your 69th level spell/tome.

• Once your faction is high amiable, begin Tier 3.
  • Hail Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive a flag.
    • Side Note: If you speak with General Lereh Dirr, you gain access to the Rikkukin and Kessdona raids (not a part of progression).
  • Hail Officer Sirrikis Ryktor.
    • Complete the task Muddy the Waters.
    • Complete the task Snowfoot Attack.
    • Complete the task Knowledge is Power.
  • Hail Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive a flag.
  • Hail Officer Vacax Rol`Tas.
    • Complete the task The Gilded Scroll.
  • Hail Captain Aleeth Zyrv.
  • Loot Lava Spider Spinners from Volkara in the Volkara's Bite raid task.
    • Side Note: You need only participate and loot the item; you do not have to be the one who requested the raid.
  • Give Lava Spider Spinners to Commander Zaerr Ty`Dar to receive a flag.
  • Captain Aleeth Zyrv.
  • Loot Goblin Warlord's Beads from a Stillmoon Warlord in the Trial of Perseverance raid task.

    • Recieve a flag after an Egg of a Saved Clutch (from the task) is delivered to Pericolo L`Morte.

  • Loot Diseased Wing Fragment from Ju`rek the Corrupted in The Curse of Ju`rek raid task.
