EQ:feign death
Feign Death is a spell and/or ability (depends on class & level) that allows the player to imitate dying. If successful, any & all NPCs that are angry with the player (on their aggro list) will immediately assume the player dead and eventually go about their business as normal. There are very special case mobs that will not trust their eyes and come kick corpses (you) to see if you are really dead or just feigning.
Your feign can also be broken if you are hit with a spell. This can be a result of a NPC starting to cast upon you before you feigned, or a Area Effect spell going off within your range. High level FD classes can purchase alternate abilities that allow them to remain feigned through any resisted spell that, and some non-resisted spells. There are many enhancing abilities ultimately available to all classes that can feign death to make this ability more reliable.
To stop / cease feigning death, the player stands.
