If you are inside of an instance when you ding and level out of it's range, you are allowed to finish that instance run but will no longer be able to enter once you leave. Do not release if you die, as you will be unable to re-enter!

To check how long you must wait to repeat an instance, use /checkentry. Until the expire time you can re-enter the same copy of the instance to clear mobs you bypassed or to explore.
