Flying mounts will be available with the Destiny of Velious expansion. To fly a mount you must be at least level 85 and have completed a Flying Mount Quest series.

If you have an equipped flying mount, your appearance mount must be a flying mount also. [1]

As of June 24, 2011, Leapers, Gliders, and Fliers now move on the ground at about 75%, compared to ground mount speeds of 130-135% base. [2]
