Behest

The Behest System

Behests are quests to vanquish monsters, occurring near certain aetheryte and aetherial gates. Players receive gil for successfully completing them, and the experience points from having killed the monsters. The Battlewarden NPC will spawn in camps every 30 minutes on the 30 minute mark. There are Behests at the level 1, 10, 20, 30 and 40 camps for each starting region.

Initiating a Behest

When the battlewarden NPC spawns, approach and speak to it. This will start the timer for the Behest to begin. From the point of the first person accepting the Behest, the NPC will wait 3 minutes to begin. Unlike a Guildleve, everyone in the party must speak to the battlewarden. The leader of the party speaking to the NPC is not enough. The amount of monsters in any given Behest is determined by the amount of people signed up.

To cancel your participation in the Behest, simply speak to the battlewarden before it starts.

Tracking the Behest Targets

Once the actual Behest has begin, things play out much like your standard battlecraft Guildleve. Your targets will be shown in the mini map along with the arrows pointing to their direction. Seek out and kill the targets! The battlewarden will walk (slowly) to the target area, but will not participate in battle.

Note: The system is currently designed so that if one group (or solo player) attacks a monster that belongs to a group, all of that monsters group will be claimed by the single group or player regardless of who is participating in the event. This means it is important for Behest members to all be in the same party. Also, it is important to attack only the monsters which have been claimed (names are in red). Attacking unclaimed monsters while other monsters are claimed will result in the loss of SP/EXP for the unclaimed one.

Boss Time

Once the initial targets have been defeated, a Boss monster(s) will appear. In order to complete the behest, you must defeat the boss. The types and levels of the bosses will vary with the level range of the Behest itself, but they also may add new sorts of requirements in the future.

Rewards

AKA Show me the money!

Once you've defeated the boss, speak to the battlewarden to receive your reward. It will give you the option to teleport back to camp, or stay there, much like a Guildleve.
