Anyone at least 68th level is automatically granted the flag for this zone. Neither the signets, nor the raids are required if you are 68th level. The actual access quest can be found here. It involves the collection of seven signets from various areas and six raid trials in the Muramite Proving Grounds. The asylum is located in the northwest of the Wall of Slaughter. Your party must consist of at least six members in order to gain access to the zone. |

With free access given at 68 now. It is pointless to do the signets or the MPG raid trials for anything other than loot and fun. It's impossible to even do the old access quest before you will already have access to the zone for free. That being because the last signet is in RSS which you can't zone into until you are 69.

Posted some pics of Mata muram on www.cestusdei.org on my most recent update that you can use here if you like. Arch Magus is another minotaur/warden hanvar model, so no difference there visually. Killed Tormentors, Arch Magus and reached Mata a bit before Christmas, but had server issues and wasn't able to update for some time.

Very disappointed with his model. I figured Kerafyrm or something like that...

Ya really, he just looks like a bigger, slightly different dragorn. Quarm looks 1000 times cooler than him. BTW whats with that mob that hits for 76k? does it hit only once per minute or something?

He does look a bit better in person. Moves pretty well. Not a very intimidating model though, like a huge dragon though.
The 76k hitter (and beyond, think someone got hit for 200k once, not that it matters) is kind of a penalty mob, that you aren't supposed to deal with unless you do something wrong. It's kind of hard to describe without explaining the entire arch magus fight. Ripostes are pretty funny from those guys. Just see melee vaporize if they try to attack from the front.

Whats the point ofthe groupable trials if they dont get you parts to the key to get into CoA?

1) excellent loots with stats at or beyond time level
2) Each group trial unlocks a hidden AA called "Trials of Mata Muram", raises Resist cap by 8
3) They are FUN =)

Meta muram is indeed the final boss of Anguish.
so does mata muram appear in anguish? seems like OoW revoles around him so i would think you get to see him.
So far, Only Keldovan the Harrier, Ture, and Warden Hanvar have been killed here. Warden Hanvar is the Epic 2.0 dropper from my understanding. I'd really like to know what comes after Warden Hanvar, but either guilds haven't figured out what's next or are being really stingy with Screenshots. :)

Well, the only unsolved part of Anguish's accessable section is the scipt with Tanth_ the Tormentor.
At the northern end of the known area seems to be a portal... it's not working atm...
Maybe guilds who killed Hanvar and/or Tormentor script can use it though. No idea since Hanvar still wasn't fixed on AB at 12/14/04 =)
Update : Downed him on 12/20... portal still not working
Update2 : Tanth_ script won by some guild
Update3 : Heard that CD is at the next raid mob, Arch Magus Vangl, and it seems like they are really stingy with pictures :p
Update4 : Tormentor Ring down for us on 01/09/05 and wee ! Portal is working now !

So far, i see a couple dozen trash mobs with no loot, and three raid encounters in this zone.
Is that it ? I thought they left the days of killing trash upon trash , only to kill more trash before you get to a raid encounter back in luclin.
imho - after one has worked thier but off to get the seal completed and go thru the trials in MPG -and then create the signet so your body is not torn to shreds - this zone should offer a hell of a lot more with much less "lootless" trash.

Just to make a comment on time vs reward now that this zone is on farm status: Our record time clearing everything (one set of aug droppers, all named including OMM) is currently 2h 39 minutes from spawning the instance.
so, yes- it's worth it.

I would have to see that to believe it. OMM takes a lot of time in itself, even now with better loots then he offers.

Some guilds skip a lot and go straight to the named.
I can see doing a lot of named in 2 hours, but adding omm in there as well, I'd have to see that for sure.

In fact there are six random mininameds in Anguish which drop the nice augments plus two raid mobs (Keldovan and Ture) that are farmed atm and drop pretty nice stuff.
Just wait for the stuff to be added to the database, guess admins are pretty busy atm.
This zone really requires some trash clearing but it's not that bad imo. Keldovan is maybe 15 mobs from the entrance, Ture is a little further in, but you got the chance to hit up to five minis on the way to him =)

FadanyStargazer,
Posted: Nov 15th 2004 1:25pm, Score: Sub-Default, [expand] why in the world should everything be given to you??? look this is a great thing. YES you have worked your butt off to get to this zone and CONG to you........ in time we clear all the trash mobs in P3 its no bigie and we also get some OK loot from there.............. if EQ wasnt a chalenge then you just wouldnt play it IMHO. no one on any server yet has completed this place and i doubt they will for a long time i hear there are some pretty nasty mobs in here and we are haveing CRs after CRs. Im not gonna be suprised if we see lvl 90 + mobs in here. Im not flaged for this zone. Havent had the time to do so but i know that the seal does drop from the mobs and that is a great thing i mean once you are in you never wanna do the freaking trials again its just to much a pain in the butt to do so like you said but THE 85 % rule still is in effect here. So 85 % the raid is flaged to get in then you can get in also. Loot will come once guilds start ruleing this zone. Loot = faster kills and that is why loot is hard to get here not to mention if you are not geared up for this place then you are not gonna get very far in this place. ITS WORTHWHILE but have to be patient. Get ready to have some good times here. Im very very interested in how things are gonna turn up in this place (300 hp 300 mana loot) OMFG thats the reason its so hard to get this stuff.... you have players fitted with this equip the who world of eq will fall apart soon you and i know this (pick up raids for time are already in effect) 20 ppl to rule time (15 to kill what ever you like) ITS TWINKING TIME. Remeber things should never be given to you yes work for it and work some more. Have fun thats what i always say.
Fadany I think you are missing my point about this zone and expansion. To elaborate on what i am trying to say -
First of all , clearing phase three trash in Time takes mebbe an hour? Ok....giving the benfit of the doubt , 2 hours tops. After that , your killing god after god , with the exception of some trash mobs in phase 5 that take 15 minutes to kill. This is a nice way to end the expansion. Its a treat to the players , and a great way to get loot for the whole guild (i believe 3 nice pieces drop off each god - so thats 3x8 +quarm). Your guild stands to walk away with 30+ pieces of nice loot per clearing.
Secondly - no one is asking for anything to be given to them , If your in this zone , trust me , you have not had ANYTHING handed to you . You worked your butt off to get here. So throw a dog a bone. I like some of the MPG trials to get here - i was laughing the entire time my guild did the Tactics trial. Its not the road leading to this zone that im talkin about. Once you get here however , it would be nice to see real rewards without so much effort.
Take a look at this piece of loot. http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=30052 its almost what you are describing. +245 to HP and mana - ok , not quite 300 , but still damn nice.Regen , strikethru , stun resist , all rolled into one nice neckpiece. And it didnt even come from OoW - its a GoD item. Again , if yo uare able to get to the zone that this drops in, you have already jumped thru some incredible hoops and deserve this kinda stuff to drop like candy at the same rate you would find in the plane of time.
My point is simply this - since players ARE working thier little butts off to make it to these zones, and since they ARE jumping thru hoops to achieve this level of loot , make it worthwhile working towards it for everyone. Make sure an entire guild , or close to it , is going to benefit by asking their members to go thru the process. 5 minis and 2 raid encounters is all thats been said about whats in this zone thus far. Personally , im still not impressed. It seems a step back from what we recieved with the PoP expansion. Omens of War - while it had great eye candy as an expansion when first released has turned into a steady disappointment for me as i play deeper into it. Its a tiny expansion of 10 zones. Half are useless (draniks scar, harbingers spire, bloodfields and draniks instances are 99% useless). Riftseekers is only obtainable after you reach 69 , and CoA is locked. That crammed all the people 65+ looking to exceed in the game into 4 zones - MPG - Nobles Causeway - Ruined city - and Walls of slaughter. Meanwhile i look back at the 22 zone pop expansion , a 28 zone luclin expansion , and a 19 zone velious expansion and think to myself ,...why did we take a major step back here? As much as i dislike Gates of discord , it was basically an 18 zone expansion that seems much more worthwhile to progress thru than what the end content of Omens is going to offer. So after you have done everything required to enter this zone ...i stand by my original statement ....
Is this all this zone has to offer?

i see your point. Point in case we are all gonna have to just deal with it and make an effort to keep working for the loot we all want. We all know this measly 10 zone crap is a step back. BUT....... we wont see the end for (guess anyone??) common now im not argueing i see your point but it wont be givin to us. yes i saw the neck iteam and yes i know its for GoD in fact a monk on my server showed ikt to me (yes a monk) has this neck item. great stuff. we all love loot. i just hope that what we all have worked for and (that 20 hours a day so of those players out there endure) pay off. i have been out the game for over 2 months now =( i havent even seen most this stuff yet. (moveing around sux) but yes i do see your point.......... and yes P3 sux..... also on that note. the last guild i was in couldnt do all 5 phases in one night. took 2 days. seen GoD was not happy like the rest of us but we have to go through it. CoA it will show some good loot at the end (i hope) i really hope like more then 3 drops per kill or maybe like in time we have to clear all the trash and then Named are thrown at us you never really know till we get there.
It's been kinda hard to find out about gettign into this zone the only guild on my server are not aloud to talk about how to get access. But from what I have learned you need to do all the MPG raid trials and then collect the signets and turn them in to a guy in Riftseekers for an item that keeps you from getting the zone wide death touch when zoneing into CoA. I am not sure how true this is if anyone else has heard anythign please post.

Posting from Wheelersburg, OhioWhen you've gotten the seals from all the six MPG raids, you get http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=52413 in your inventory, which also drops from nameds in CoA for people entering through the 85% rule, which doesn't let you skip the signets however. Speak to Taromami in RSS to get a container for the key quest, then combine the seven signets in that box. After you've turned in that, you can enter CoA with the seal.

There isn't one. That's a common misconception people have from reading the lore. If you try to zone into Anguish with just having the key (the Seal: Mastery of All from the MPG raids), it'll tell you that you'd be torn apart by the discordant enengies inside Anguish. Taromani also says the same thing, and says she'll protect you if you go collect the signets for her. Once you do that, you can zone into Anguish. If you do the collection -without- getting the Seal, it'll just tell you that you don't have the key when you try to zone in. Once you do zone in, it's keyringed.
But anyhoo, the 'Zonewide AE' thing is just backstory/lore. Neat idea though.

I think that message by "Lore", since the message is more or less story information to explain what's happening.

You have to get Mastery of Arcane Rune, Mastery of Power Rune, Mastery of Realms Rune, Mastery of Tactics Rune, Mastery of Body Rune, and Mastery of Mind Rune, which gets you Seal: Mastery of All, which I bileave is the key to this zone. You get the runes threw the trials in Muramite Proving Grounds. Several guilds have achieved this. http://www.trialityguild.com (go vazaelle)!
It is the one keyed zone of OoW, in other words the end zone of OoW
I HIGHLY doubt it

Yes, this is a definite high end zone similar to Riftseekers is my guess. Or perhaps like Tacvi.
You need a key not a flag. The key is quested in Riftseekers from an NPC called Taromani (spelling?).
You need to collect 7 items.
These are the following items... So far all dropped by Dragorns from my experience.
Tarnished Signet ID - Wall of Slaughter from a Dragorn Strategist.. Also, a friend told me he got one from a Dragorn Mastermind.
Glimmering Signet ID - Muramite Provingrounds from a Dragorn Tactician that was red to me at level 70. Hits for 1200 max it was slowed partially. It had an AE that I can't remember. Dragornian Malady or something that does.
Weather-worn Signet ID - City of Dranik from a A Dragorn Prodigy.
Dust-Marred Signet ID - Catacombs of Dranik (Instance Zone) from a Dragorn... Sorry forgot the exact name of the mob.
Two-toned Signet ID - Dranik's Hollows (Instance Zone) from a named Dragorn. I think the instance has something to do with water. Lol.. sorry, I cant remember exactly which instance.
Discolored Signet ID - Sewers of Dranik (Instance Zone) again from a Dragorn.
Crystal-Gemmed Signet ID - Riftseekers from a Dragorn that I can't remember the exact name.
It was an easy quest actually... probably the hardest was the one from WoS because of camp competition. Sometimes WoS can get overly crowded around 120 Players. The Dragorn Strategist is static and majority of the time, he is camped by exp and farmer players.
The rest are easy, especially the pieces from instances zones. PG and Riftseekers is not that hard unless there are other people camping for the piece.

First of, I would like to apologise to everyone for the wrong information posted previously.
I'd also would like to say that there are 3 people sharing two computers at home and sharing 5 EQ accounts.
The wrong information given above under my handle was posted by one of my younger brothers.
As to answer Snodd's sarcastic question. YES I have access. In fact majority of Phantom Raiders (Bertox server) which the guild I belong have access to Anguish, the Fallen Palace. Do you?
Once again, I apologise.

I thought the signet quest was for the AE blocker in Anguish. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
