Just did Kaas Thox Xi Aten Ha Ra last night was pretty easy was boxing a warrior used defensive through most of the fight get him cornered and you will be good to go,max hit was about 1130 that was went i ate enrage but other then that its a dps fight for sure,5 6 mins later mob died and loot was ~

I'm curious about a few things with this mob.
how many adds are the room with the blob? how many in the hallway before him?
do warders spawn in the hallway? how about in his room?

Its also best not to tank it where the picture shows, fling can toss you close to the door, which will net you bout 4 adds. The cubby behind, where you COH to, is safer. The mob is slowable and i suggest you do, for by even todays standards it puts out decent dps.
best way to counter the flings:
the mobs in vt fling you the direction they are facing.
So tank against wall or corner, everyone will fly into that direction.
Fight the mobs from the sides, and you dont lose much dps since you are just flying sideways, can strafe a little if you lose sight.

From what I have seen, though they may have the same name, they both have seperate loot tables. This means that the items listed here will drop from one or the other but not from both. I kept track of the loot off these mobs on our last 4 clears. While we got repeat items there was no over lap between the two.

So I was in Vex Thal today clearing up to aten, and we were whacking at this guy with much seriousness- but the zone crashes when he's at 10%! Curses, says I- for some reason the bad mobs will kill me right as I come in.
Not so.
I logged in to find 2 other people get eaten by the bad blob(!) and I had just enough time to get to the center of the room and noticed this bad 1000pt hitting mojo tearign stragith off at me! Being merely a wizard, I did the one things I do best. Kite. For 15 minutes I kited this very blob around - and by goad his room is incredibly small. I kept getting gfluxed as well, and had to steer myself around, even getting caught on the room's overhang, as well! All was not lost, however, R3 is just enough needed to kite this around his tiny room and not get hit.
We killed the blobs after people came in, and proceeded to Aten Ha Ra who dropped us, among other things, a Mask of Secrets. But surely I'm now among the few and the proud to have ever kited Kaas Thox Xi Aten Ha Ra.

If more than one person needs that item as a upgrade, maybe then it would either be randomd between those persons, or given to the most seinor of those persons. (Meaning the person that has been in the guild the longest in between those who want the item) Shrug, I'm not sure how these uber guilds work out giving loot. Maybe they are allready so powerfull and they have alts that they camp outside and if nodrop loot drops that they don't need as upgrades, maybe they give that loot to thier alts? Shrug, again I'm not sure how uber guilds work out looting, though if I had one I guess that's how I'd work out looting :)
most guilds that I know of that are VT capable (or any high end zone) run under the point system. There are some slight variations here and there for loot distribution but for the most part, players will bid on an item which is given X amount of points that it is worth.

This thing hits for 1600 and has well over 1,500,000 hps. It AE's an unresistable gflux too. This is the hardest mob in the game, other than Emp.

Even in 2002 I would have said that AHR is harder than this goo.

AHR is indeed harder then this mob.. besides aten though, it is a pretty nasty mob. Has some considerable melee dps and you will definately want more then 1 healer for this one, unless you are all GoD geared or something. 20ish min fight with 12 people, had 1 cleric 1 shm as only healers, both vt/ep geared, tank had 10k hp unbuffed.

just FYI guilds do occasionally random items even at this level, granted it's between two or three people(generally the same race/class) with similar amounts of raid points, but it does happen ;)
man, is it just me or is only a very small percentage of this loot mellee weapons?

The level of the creature doesn't really matter in a zone such as this.. it's the amount of hit points the darn thing has.. Most named mobs such as this have 500,000+ hps.. so expect a good 15 to 20 minute fight.
And I'd tip my hat to a raid of 24 that could take this guy down.. I've been on a 40 person raid for the other Goo guy.. just don't think 24 could deal enough dmg before mana starts running low. Someday perhaps. ;)

Also if you rolled on anything either the raid leader or some one the raid leaders asigns will rand roll for the number of people in the raid ie 24 people the ML master looter would roll a 24 sided dice. depending on the item if it was a class or race only then you would only roll a dice for that number of people.
It will be awarded, not rolled for. To get into VT takes a long quest to acquire the key, and to power the key, you need a drop from the boss mob of ssra temple. And each time you kill king snakey, you can only power 40 keys. Plan on several months to acquire the key and power source.
VT Key done in less than a week here. (Would have been faster, but I had to wait 3 days till we killed Emp in Ssra for my rift) And I soloed all but 2 of my shards and two boxed my Frame (Druid Main with Cleric Bot to Pac)... so dont tell me time sink anymore... this key is cake.

It may be cake to get a single key for someone in a guild that is already keyed, but keying 40+ people for this is still a major time sink.

Not now; and I personnally find harder to key a single person than a full guild...
With level 65, we can onegroup all the available camps in the zone or kill alot of pottential droppers, which make shards to drop much faster than if you solo or duo.
It depends of place, in DSP it's faster to let everyone solo since there are not enough mobs for more than two persons; but in Seru or Akheva, or even the deep, it's easier, faster, and funnier to group or raid the zones (well, raid is a bit overkill, but two groups in seru is fun =P)
