Meh.... soloed him today with 63 Necromancer / Tank Merc.... this one had the Scythe in hand not hammer or I wouldn't have tried. Not too hard, cleared the room first, he destroyed my merc pretty fast as I couldnt keep aggro despite chain casting darkness - most spells actually landed despite what I read here, yes a few resisted but not insane, kept snared entire fight - merc went down with him at35% or so, I Lifeburned him then and kited him around, was totally oom at end but killed him before repops - got a whole AA for it too.
My question is, the Scythe is a 1hs, and looks cool, but if you have NO 1HS, why is it Necro usable? (I cant land a hit even though it procs a now-useless proc)
Ohh, SOE.... you've done it again....

so me (55 sham) w/ t1 jm merc tank and my guildy, a 53 ranger...we are currently going on 20 minutes we are all full health and mana and so this stupid mob...he resist every thing i cast except for plague...and now our GL is comin a 85 warrior...this better flippin work lol
Killed him last night w/ my 75 mage and T1 Journey Cleric merc. Due to the fact he had the hammer, and it proc'd every 10-15 seconds, sometimes 3-4 times in a row, it took FOREVER!!! 15 minute fight... The key was to wait until you saw the DS messages (from pet) then cast like crazy, and hope he doesnt proc again, or resist. used the 2.5 sec fire spell (forgot name) and the Summoned Ice thing of paradox somethin' or other (very technical, i know). Had to Mala, then Malosanise.. still resisted 1-2/5 casts. Did not resist any of the casts from the Summoned paradox thing. Dropped the hammer (could not use). 85 Cleric got it, and went on a rampage in VT (tagged along). Had atleast 10-15 mob's on her, w/ Ward spell, and this hammer procing every other swing, there were literally NO heals casted. Very nice weapon when used right.

Spawns at LOCATION -442, 1570, -63 this location will put your on the far side of the wall but straight across from Praetorian Myral.
well I fought him while he had his hammer... was a very peculiar fight.
whenever he proc'd I had to kite him around, but when DA wasn't up, I noticed a few things:
1.) he has an average amount of hp
2.) he has a very high regen rate
3.) he either has very high AC, very high agility, or both, because I could rarely hit him, and when I DID hit him, it was for pathetic amounts of damage.
anyways, those are just things to think about before you engage him. the fight took about 15 minutes because I could only get several seconds of fighting in at a time as he proc's very often.

Forgot once the hammer processes the mobs will of course go after Merc and you will no longer be able to damage mob or be healed / cast on.
Had 20 light blue mobs on me in GE tested the hammer and seems I was safe outside the merc getting canned. Does process often for my 65 cleric.

It took my 70 level necro about 7 minutes and 80% of my mana to kill the mob. Pet Hold, Snare. Magic based and Fire based DOT did not often stick on the mob.
My 65 Cleric now has hammer (Merez) looking for more info will most after I use it for a while.

While I am not in the zone 24 hrs 7 days a week. Have seen the spawn twice in 3 days. Both time did not drop the hammer. Also a graphic of the weapon he is holding occurred both time. So I assume the Hammer would be seen in his hands.
Indifferent Mob does not agro with other mobs.
Seems the roaming mobs that come in room and come near door and can agro you in the room number in the 6 plus. They travel far to the room so be warned even if you clear the long hall you can get adds. Also found that a few types of other minor names can spawn in room and as the roamer mobs also.
Again the non hammer equiped mob is cake for most classes over 65. A lot of HP so have a DS up to help your DPS

Did some testing and a 70 necro cannot fear this guy. Snare also seems to miss often and necro dot + snare spells do not seem to stick. Necro AA snare worked 3 times out of 9 casts.
Fire spells seem not to hit as well as wells magic based damage spells, Seems poisen and deases based spells hit most of the time.
70 Necro will all spells and pet took about 8 minutes but did not have the DA hammer only the Scythe and some junk. Was dark blue to 65 druid and light blue to a 70 necro.

Just killed with a 75 pally, 13.5k unbuffed/2600ac ....its a long F'n fight...i then brought my 75 ranger to dps, i DOT'd a bit to offset the DA procs, he proc's a lot... my suggestion is bring a class that can DOT a lot, to off set his DA when you cannot melee...
He is found in the far side of the zone by SD zoneline, in the far bottom left corner of zone (if looking at the map), trackable from zone with ranger.
Awesome weap and it proc's a lot, I will enjoy this during duels and for those tough mobs that take a few tries to slow :)

I realize that lots of folks who kill this guy are after something particular, but after checking every few days for the last month and a half, and never finding this guy up, I can't help but suspect some **** is farming him just for the sake of farming him (and likely half the other named mobs on the server too).
As much as they need to merge the servers again for population and grouping's sake, sh*t like this would only get twice as bad. If I ever see him with a DA hammer it will be a true miracle (or if I just see him!).

I've dropped this mob a few times on the Tribunal with a 76 ranger (COA geared) and 67 cleric (gear is old...has been in partial retirement until recently). The guy gave up the scythe again (grats rot). I just want the hammer and wand for the cleric.
There was only one add during the fight and he went down quickly. I cleared out the far corners away from the door and used the cleric to paci the two near Myral. A snare and two arrows and the fight was on...took about 8 to 10 minutes with the ranger doing most of the fighting (cleric got some good whacks in towards the end).

Dropped scythe today on Drinal. Time was 1:05 PM EST.
Since so many people asked for it. I've uploaded an image of him holding the Wand of Casual Blessings in hand. I hope this clears up some confusion.
Also of note, his spawn time, at least on Al'kabor is 24 hours or less.

solo'd em for my 51 cleric alt, the DA proc is very very annoying
he regens a bit while invul, so if you can, DoT him to counterract it, while invuln i'd heal myself a bit, then go back to dps, just attack, dot, heal, over and over, took abou 8 minutes, long boring fight

Two 75 druids dropped him in about 5 min. Wolf form, snare and load him up with DoTs. Swarms were almost never resisted. Nukes hardly ever hit. One could sit out and regen mana while the other kited. Dropped the Hammer and had time to run 60 Cleric in for it.

Lets say he has the Hammer when he's up.
Would it be possible to disarm him? If you're like me your disarm skill is considerably low but who knows, I have not used mine in a long time, but have gotten it to work a few times on random mobs.
Just wondering.

I do not believe so, since the hammer is flagged magical.
FWI this is no ordinary named mob...
Tried to solo him with my lvl 63 SK and got FD off at 1%...it took a 75 monk, me, and a 61 Chanter to kill him. Took a good 5-10 min.
After he died we had a 4min rest timer...not an ordinary named lol

Go south thru the door, go west then south, go south then follow the hallway north, go thru the door and then the west door in that room.
Now go south and thru the door, he pops right in from of the altar on the same side as the door. GL!

Battle Cleric report on Fighting Myral with the scythe...
71 Cleric here. Had my wife helping out with her 69 Pally for added dps.
I had 1600AC and 7.5K hp's for this fight. My atk is about 1250, but most of the dmg done was DS and Reverse DS and procs...
(I only have rank 1 of SCF, so my crit rate for procs is only 2%)
I had Ward of Vengeance going as well as the new Vow of Valor. Used DS Potion (35 DS Skinspikes) and have +9 DS with worn items. Pulled Myral with Mark of the Blameless (45 Reverse DS) and slapped Mark of the Righteous on right after (34 Reverse DS). Clickied my pet pants and waded in with my hammer.
Now, Myral hits quite fast. So the DS and Reverse DS going on him does ALOT of damage. 123 DS all combined, per hit. Ward of Vengeance also procs alot on this guy 'cause it's based on the number of times you're hit and procs with a parry modifier of 400. Vow of Valor was also going off at it's usual rate of just over 5 times a minute for 800 dmg each.
Now here's the kicker, when Vow of Valor procs it gives a recourse effect of a 1350/tick Heal over Time. I never had to heal myself during the whole fight. so I was pretty much full mana again at the end. Had to stun once the whole fight 'cause the pally had stolen aggro... once.
I was surprised at how little damage Myral actually does...
I parsed my logfile with Yalp. Duration of Myral Fight: 6 mins 31 seconds. MY dps (includes procs, DS, Reverse DS and Wards): 283! My pet added another 9 or so DPS, And I have incomplete readings on the Pally, so no accurate dps parse for her. The parse does shows Myral doing a total of 149 dps to me (which can be countered by at least a 900/Tick HoT), which explains whey I was always brought back to full hp's with the VoV Recourse.
So if he doesn't have the hammer, it's a pretty straight up fight, and can be easily solo'd by any cleric lvl 71+... Just DS the crap out of him, and keep the Valor recourse going.
Now, I understand it'll be a whole new ballgame if he's got that hammer. I'd need ALOT more dps classes helping out to try to melee him dead this way... Much easier I think to just kite him like it's been said earlier in this thread. If I find any useful information in a logfile parse when that happens, I'll post it.

70 nec here, and having already farmed this guy back around 65 with a bard friend of mine, I decided to take a shot at soloing. Assuming you're standing at door to the room, make sure you have invis up and run over to the top right corner. Clear this mob by whatever means, and then wait maybe a minute. Then pull the mob on right side of prae with pet pull, or whatever you have to do to get him single.
Then, pull prae himself with snare. Mob on left shouldnt aggro; however, if this becomes a problem, just pet pull prae to get him single. If snare is resisted, throw pet on him to tank for a few seconds while you make sure snare sticks. Once snare is succesfully up, start kiting him up and down that wall mantaining snare, pyre of mori, and any other dot's you can afford to throw in (note -- very important that you keep your mana over at least 40%). This tactic should get you through till mob is at about 60% or so, at which point repops will start showing up. Now, this was the reason why you waited a minute between clearing the first two mobs; so that you have a minute imbetween pops. Just throw snare on the first pop, and go max burn to take him down quick. When second repop shows up, do the same; except its not necesary to go max burn, as you dont have to worry about repops.
Rinse and repeat until prae is down. From the second i cleared first mob, to when prae's corpse hit the ground, took me about 25 minutes.
Note: this tactic will work with either hammer or scythe, due to the fact that if you pay attention, you wont be getting hit.

I just soloed him on my 70 necro , spammed clicky darkness on him to keep him snared and just let crit Dread Pyres and pet eat him away , he got close enough to proc DA twice which slowed me down a bit on dot recasts but all in all was pretty easy . I was hoping to get scythe for flesh rend proc to make bone chips , but he had the hammer which I ran my 65 pally in to loot , so wasnt a complete waste I guess =)

Boxed my 70 pally and 70 shammy against the hammer version for the first time. Myral spawns in a large room with two spires and a crypt therebetween, in the south part of the zone, close to the Scarlet Desert zone side. The pally was useless against this guy. Myral's proc'd DA along with high regen, makes it nearly impossible to melee him. With the two, the best I could do was 80% hp. Even tried pet kiting with Pally and shammy landing dots, with little effect. Ended up using the shammy's AA root and keeping 4 dots (2 poison and 2 disease) on him with Pally chaining root when shammy root wears off and before AA root refreshes. Worked much much better and finally own the DA hammer for my pally. Woot!
At 62 my NEC had a group, and when the rest either died or zoned, I was FD for probably 30 minutes or more waiting for them to get their sh*t together and return, and aggro never cleared.
So if you're going to FD in a fight with him, do it farther away than right by the alter.

Was able to solo him with the scythe quite easily. MoK, MoR, hammer pet and Ward of Retribution was more then enough dps to wear him down. 15min fight just melee and keep an HoT on yourself through it.
A Harconis scowls at you ready to ressurrect -- what would you like your percentage to be?

Solo'd the scythe-bearing version. Figured I would give it a go pitting his fast attack speed against my pet's 62dmg DS while alternating between Pyrilen Skin and Veil of Pyrilonus, tossing in heals as needed. First pet (Air) held up well. Sinia landed, as did air stuns and procs. Dumped all discs at the beginning to give them a chance to refresh if the fight became prolonged. When mana got low I let air pet take a fall while I unsuspended my backup pet, which happened to be a well-buffed water. It did not fare as well, but held up well enough to let me start dumping earth pets on it with just haste and DS. Earth root landed. Took about 5 earths after, and a second swarm/FB/flappy combo to bring him down. Fight was done before room respawn. I think with a cleric a well-buffed earth pet or even air could handle the hammer version. If I wasn't tied up with heals I think I could maintain chain DS throughout while on horse with full mana regen buffs. Will try it when I get the chance.

Me (62 ranger with lots of Fabled gear), 67 Nec well equipped, my wife's 56 chanter that has medium gear, with a 66 cleric BOTed by the 67 monk that was our tank. Took about 6 to 10 min. Easy fight. Reading below, I'm hoping the spawn rate is considerably better than the 5 days someone said. Hoping for the 2-3 day report. Will be watching for him (I want that scythe for my own Necro and Sk) and will report back on exactly how long it is.

Popped last night, and was wielding the hammer. Tried for about an hour to kill him, but we couldn't sustain enough DPS to overcome his regen. Finally decided it was a no-go and made plans to return today after the patch, hoping he would be wielding the scythe and would just drop the hammer. Had the scythe, killed him easy, but didn't drop the hammer, only some worthless gem. So it appears that he's on a 2 day spawn rate. We'll be goin back every couple days to try and get the hammer and wand for a guildy's cleric and my own. Gotta say though that I am in love with the scythe. My necro looks perfect with it. Now if only Sony would add 1HS to the Necro skills. I know he's a caster, but I'm one of those guys that works his casters melee skills to the max. I like my toons to be all that they can be. =-)
Tried soloing as a 70 Shaman. He can't hurt me, but I couldn't sustain enough DPS to drop him before going OOM. I don't have the OOW curse DoT, but I stacked Blood of Saryn, Anathema and Bane. Hit Dogdot with Leopard and tanked him myself. Kept Q on myself and he never got me below 60% health except when I would Canni5.
I finally got him to 50% but I was at 10% mana having just Canni5ed for the second time. It was pretty much a draw as neither of us could kill each other. So, finally gated. A DPS partner and he would go down.

Easy for a necro to kite cept one little fact, if you can't rigt click snare youll prolly run OOM fast. I got UP to 8 snare resist at a time, a mob appeared at the door while kiting (spawned add?) easily avoidable, wonders from door, to middle, to upper left, depops when mob dies... Makes me think he spawns for that very reason, to make life harder
so according to the info here, hes about 80,000 hitpoints, procs <Divine Aura> but its dispellable, he flurries a LOT (every 1 sec), casts heal over time at the end but is dispellable as well
doing the math, a tank can put on some damage shield potions (40-50damage shield total), and since he has very weak damage output (max 100 to non tanks) should be able to take him on, and if he DA's anyone can just dispell it via potions.
well i'll find out if that theory works someday (^-^)

DA is NOT dispellable.
He does NOT drop the hammer if he is wielding the sythe.
He doesn't have a lot of HPs... it just seems that way because you are unable to damage him while he is DA. That includes cast any spells on him during that time. KITE KITE KITE!

Check it out.. This guy is a snap.. It takes a while .. but it gets the job done.. he was holding the scyth if you care...
Chars Used : 70 Druid, 70 Cleric, 70 Enc (botted)
Jobs: Druid - Snare, DD, DoT, Heal
Cleric - DD, Heal, Pet Hammer
Chanter - DD, Charm, NDT, Haste
Druid ran arround with aggro while my chanters charmed pet attacked and cleric nuked.. Got mob to 20% before my computer random restarted... By the time i logged back in.. mob was at 56% health and druid had him Rooted in middle of room. Plenty of time to kill mob before respawn.. Work your way arround the room when clearing.. Pull slowly.. wait a lil bit before you pull next mob to kill before named.. cause if you stay to long if you kill all at once you will be hurting cause they will all pop on you and likely to have a named with them.

Trioed this guy(had DA Hammer) on 1/22/04 with a 69 Shaman, 66 Ranger and 67 Cleric.
At first we tried just the ranger and the shaman and got him down to 40 when the room repopped on us. At which point the shaman gated out and I(the ranger) bowkited Myral and 6 or 7 adds(including a mini named) and killed them all while the shaman ran back and the cleric got there.
By this time he had regened back to 100 so we started from scratch. When we got him to 40 the shaman had been kiting him, she pulled him with slow and I snared him and just hit /autofire and went to town.
This time, since I had been bowkiting him and adds I had aggro and she wasnt able to take aggro from me until we had gotten him down to 70 at which point i stood back and fired arrows while she kited. The cleric healed and nuked(without any C) and took on the occasional pop. When repops happened I killed them and he regened up a bit although the shaman's dots were doing a good job on him.
We eventually took him down and he dropped the DA Hammer, the cleric was being played by her brother and I guess she was happy when she logged on but she didnt really appreciate the effort that went into doing it =p

Myself 58 mage and a 68 necro duo'd him. Cleared his room then necro kited him around while necro pet and my epic pet beat on him *epic pet with taunt off still got agro a few times so be carefull. I chain nuked and even malo'd he's rather magic resistant. Killed him just as room started popping again. Ran my cleric over and got her a shiny new hammer. To insure you can take him out in time though I'd recomend adding 1 more caster class to the mix. Fun and easy fight. Thanks Ravey /wave

Done with my level 70 bard solo last Friday. Have 1 point in critical affliction AA and have a 3.0 mod drum. 2 points in instrumental mastery. 3 new oow chants. Bards don't have to clear the adds. We have a faction modifier song that won't fade til you zone out. So we can run thru the zone to him naked and not get attacked. He's on different faction then the ones in his room so if they are dubious they still won't assist him. Don't charm, that will cause them to agro. Use all ur chants but magic. Fire will still be resisted a good deal. I did it without using selo's and only my innate run 3 speed. Wanted to keep fire on him. Pretty long battle but I'm sure much shorter with a better drum/better AAs. GL and let's see some more solo him =)
small brick of yttrim ore just droped off him

It's an easy kill for a Level 70 Necro now. Clear the 6 trashmobs in his room first and then agrokite him. He is a little magic resistent so you have 3 darknes resists in a row sometimes. Use your pet and your fire, disease and poison dots for damage.
Our guild took this guy down last night. he had the hammer, and our 1st attempt didnt go so well. many died after we tried going toe to toe with him with MT. After we cleaned up our act from a 1/2 hour long fight in which we got owned, i (ranger) simply kited him around the room he spawns in , kept aggro while rest of em' dotted and nuked .... took 10 mins and he never got off more than 2 DA's on me . Grats to us for thinking clearly after a bungled 1st attempt!
