These swarmlings appeared alongside The Swarm Mother while the Karanas were plagued. They disappeared when the Karanas were cleansed in the fall of 2001.

Just curious, do these things and the Swarm Mother still spawn? I have hung out in WK for awhile with various alts, but never seen nor heard of the swarm. If anyone has seen them recently, let us know please.

come to think of it, i don't remember the swarmlings causing low FPS at all. they were everywhere, it was freaky.

I'm a lvl 30 druid now.... but at lvl 27 I went there to visit my friend... a lvl 60 druid. I was walking around normal... and the swarmlings poped... They were hittin me hard and I couldn't kill em all. So I had to get saved by my lvl 60 druid friend who killed em all with 1 AE. They aren't as low as you think tho... Maybe some are... but maybe some aren't. I'm not quite sure whats up with these bugs. I just know a griffon got charmed by a chanter and couldn't kill em all without getting below half life quite a bit... Hmmm... Perhaps GMs have changed the lvls a bit or the lvls are random. I just want you to know that these could easily kill you so go the opposite way they are. I don't care what lvl you are if they swarm you... Your screwed. Unless your high enough... i'd say about 35. But even i'm confused about them.... I went there with a lvl 11 alt and they all coned green but to my druid they were light blue and kickin my butt.... Hmmmm LOL this has gone on long enough... Just be careful I think these gms are doing something wierd............

I was runnin to the
Warrens from Butcher Block and i got jumped by the swarm and a swarmling hit me so i conned it and it was green to a lvl 11warior so it cant be 26th lvl.

Over this past Halloween, the Karanas were 'cleansed' of their disease as part of the GM events that took place at that time. You no longer get sick when you enter WK, your hit point recovery is now normal instead of half, and that dumb necromancer no longer shouts, 'What a lovely disease filled place'. Also, the green mist that used to fill the air is gone. As part of the cleansing, the swarm no longer exists. Asking the NPC's in Qeynos, however, (Vegalys Keldrane in particular) shows that they have not removed the plague storyline from the game. Wheteher they intend to bring it back or are just too lazy to change it, I do not know.

Conned even to a lvl 6. had camo on. so got to watch everyone fight wihtout havin any harm done to me.

They con green to me. I killed them easily, this was in WK at one of the guard towers. The guards just stood there, too.

no you didn't, you probably killed two giant scarabs, they look alike, but these are level 20, minimum, fool

I was at the gypsy camp, preparing to turn in a greater lightstone, when the stupid things came after me. My solution? Run! Not being the brightest character on the server, I ran west, all the way back to the zone line. The good news is that I survived; the stupid things are slow.
BTW, this was my level 14 enchanter, not Molivin herself, who would have surely killed the nasty bugs.

hanging at the gypsy camp in NK.. doing some trading with the gyspies when i get attacked by one. i turn to see there are now two, i notice more coming.. I NOTICE DOZENS OF THEM COMMING!!! it was all over quickly!! I wish I could have taken a screen shot of it, it was swarmlings as far as I could see!!
