He spawns in the extreme NE corner at approximately + 1499, - 2736.

I think this guy is buged i tried to give him 5gp and he don't want it then i started with 1gp and went all the way up to 50gp and nothing

At about 6 am game time he walked from his spawn point in NE corner of map to just south of the scion towers and parked it facing north.

Helpin a Friend redo the Qeynos quests.... came to NK and Shilster is no where to be found? Anyone know if this quest is broke (know the 2nd part was broke for awhile) or has it been changed?

Having the same problem. He's vanished from his normal spot. =/
Seems to me that this guard is a Shadowknight. Took me less than a minute to kill him with my 25 DRU with root, crud, and careless lightning a couple times. But he did get in a hit for 171, which says to me Harm Touch if he is a level 17 MOB.

This guy is not a 17-18. He was dark blue to me at 21 Ranger. I killed him easily enough with double attack and dual weild, but he is not 17 lvl. Unless the range for colors is 3 levels below my Char.

I have a small visual basic program that I wrote to time the spawn times on a number of NPC's that I solo. I put the timer on Guard Shilster and his spawn time from death to respawn is 30 minutes.

Anybody know what the spawn time of this buddy is pls? I had to let somebody kill it for the Shiel quest and as I am doing the Faction one it's getting tiresome... :P

He's normally standing in the northeast corner of the zone, however, after a while he gets bored and announces that he's off to make some sales. At this point, he will walk down to between the NK-SK stone bridge and the wizard spires, stand there for a minute hawking his Blackburrow Stout, then walk back to the NE corner. If he gets delayed on the trip back (due to killing griffons or beetles), he will de-spawn and re-pop at the NE corner location.

This is a corrupt guard, don't confuse him with most of the other guards in this zone. My 45 druid that has bad faction with these guards (many of them about the Karanas and inside Qeynos, beware, they go for you all over) after doing the Testament of Vaneer quest, was attacked by him after while at the bridge to SK. Killed him easy, had to....he is corrupt...hehe.

Being an Enchanter who worships Errolis Marr was a big mistake, but now come time to do epic... my faction for doing the very first part of my epic has already stunned me. I've searced and searched until I found out about giving him 5 gold peices. I'm wondering if this will work instead of doing the crate quest which I was told to do and in the first place which will take about a week to get to dubious so I can use my faction spell. Does anyone know if this faction will allow me to be able to go down and talk to the Enchanter guild master in the Aqueducts?

Something else I'll add that I have yet to see posted here is that the Qeynos Kite Shield is used for Shadowknight Darkforge Armor quest and that killing this guy is one of the easier ways to get it. This was my initial objective when I took this guy down with my 36th Ranger (didnt notice the HT but it couldn't have been TOO bad) :-) ,where I ran into the problem was when I figured that since I had the helm I'd do the badge quest too. After turning in the book to Investigator in Qeynos an apparently corrupt guard in Qeynos aggroed on the Investigator! Which again wouldn't have been a prob (he conned green to me) except that all the other guards AND NPC's in the area jumped in too. The investigator went down in about 2 seconds and I made it all the way to the Bard guild hall omw to zone when one of the Bards delivered the final blow. I had the whole damn town beating on me! Incredible... ) Anyway, I still have the shield and will do the Darkforge quest for my SK and leave the badge to bigger men (and women) :-) than me... Good luck.

N. Qeynos: Talk to the guard that's all 'gussied up' in the guard tower (upper right as you enter city). He has a lot of queues before he gets to killing Guard Shilster.
N. Karana: North of the wood bridge near the water, Find Shilster. If you are less than level 20 and have few HPs, let him blast you with HT (he's a SK), then zone across the bridge and buff/med up. Return and finish him off (be at least level 16). Take his helm back to the guard in N Qeynos. He'll tell you about the Investigator (outside the Lions Head Inn).
Don't bother starting this part until you're high enough to kill a level 30ish spawn. It would be nice to have a high level friend come to help you a little.
If you are high enough here's where they are: Write down everything important in that book so you can refer to it. Give that book (the guard gave you in return for Shilster's helm) to the Investigator. Follow directions that you've written down. Making hotkeys for all the questioning,etc is a good idea. Make sure you're going slow enough for that dumb Investigator...the pathing is screwy and I lost him several times.
1. Riley Schplots inside Fireprides (EASY)
2. Willie Garrote underneath the Grounds of Fate (EASY)
3. Donally Stultz on the shore near the docks (he resists and you need to kill him lvl 30 caster).

Shilster was a yellow con to my level 17 druid last night. He's a Shadow Knight. I let him use up his Harm Touch on me, I crossed the bridge, meditated and buffed up. Then he was VERY easy to kill. Just root, snare, DoT, blast, blast, blast, root, blast blast. He didn't touch me.
Don't bother starting the part with the Investigator until you're higher level tho. You're supposed to have 2 suspects arrested (that was easy enough) but the 3rd suspect was very red to me at 17 and you're supposed to kill him :/ I'm going to see if someone can con him for me. I read somewhere that he was a level 30...which sucks because the rest of the quest is so easy. :(

He is part of the Investigator's Badge Quest No. 1, which starts in Qeynos North. Turn in the cracked corrupt guard helm to Vegalys Keldrane.

I've seen this guy spawn right at the zone line of North karana, East karana. He is spawned to the very left of the zone line; North East corner.

Well I was wandering around NK Tracking hill giants and saw a guard I had never seen before named guard Shilster. The name alone let me know he was a baddie and deserved to die. Also the fact that my corrupt guard status is way low meant he was scowling at me so I knew he was fair game =D. He goes down pretty easy but he is an SK. HT for 171 so he must be 17th. Drops a rusty sword, a 8ac shield and a Cracked Corrupt Guard Helm.
Deliver this helm to Vegalys Keldrane (sp?) He is on top floor of the gate of Qeynos. He will tell you to find the investigator in South Qeynos to serve some summons to followers of Bertoxx. There are three I can't remember the names but follow the instructions in the book given by Vegalys to the letter. And do it all in order. One guy is inside Fireprides, second is below Arena in front of the stocks, and third is near Raz the Rat Minsk by the docks. The third one is the only that puts up a fight, but I would think that if you killed the Shilster guard you could take him. Plus the fun part is the investigator follows you areound like a pet the whole time and helps ya fight LMAO. I am KOS to bards and will be attacked in SouthQeynos by them, so I was invis the whole time watching my lovely warrior wife do the quest, but I would say having a friend along to watch your back might be nice for the third summons.
The quest yields a neck piece and I am thinking it may be one like the shawl and ring quests in Velious. With promises for further 'badges' and promotions later. Here are the stats. Not too bad especially if there are more stages later.

Of particular note is the better Bloodsabers faction which is particularly hard to raise. Essentially your faction gets better with all the baddies in Qeynos. The Guards of Qeynos faction hit is easily repaired by slaughtering a few Gnolls in Blackburrow.

Shilster walks the bank between the big wood chainlink bridge and the mountain side wall close down to the water. He is 16-17 and casts a 171point dam touch spell as a first attack. After that he is hitting for 2pts -9pts with a rusty longsword. The helm that drops off of him is for a badge. Deliever the helm to Lord Vegalys Keldrane in Qeynos just above the city gates.

When I talk to the Guard at the top of the South tower, Capt. Lin something. He asks you to bring the bracers of the corrupt guard as proof. Giving him the helm does nothing.

GIVE THE HELM TO VEGALYS IN THE BUILDING WHEN YOU FIRST GO INTO QEYNOS IT IS FOR A QUEST HE IS ON THE SECOND FLOOR
There is a guard tower at the zone from North Karana to South Karana, it's in front of a bridge, not sure of the /loc. Anyhow, there is a guard, I don't remember his name offhand, but he is at the top of the tower and gives out this quest. Be sure the helm is a corrupt guard helm before you give it to him, since he'll attack if it isn't. Not sure what you get in return, since I haven't completed the quest yet.
