CONFIRMING --
Stormfeather DOES despawn if you leave him up long enough. I saw him on track with my ranger (all the way up on the furthest isle from EW bridge). Got halfway to him and there was no stormfeather on track. I was the only person in zone.

Killed Stormfeather this morning, 330am est. Didnt make it in time with my sk on the same account to loot. better luck next time i guess. stupid spawn time. its not even that incredible an item

Log in this morning its up, kill with main, get alt on and someone walks in and has to keep talking, 7 min corpse poofs.
Don't know why they put this mob at such a high respawn. Lodi drops 2 map pieces, and is up 3x as much. Then the corpse lasts the 30 mins or whatever so peeps can get there. End result? Destroying 7 map pieces off lodi, and seeing 1 from storm.

If you can box. Make a lvl 1 wood elf ranger.
Cougars won't attack him since hes wood elf.
Have him sit on hill. Go exp/farm with ur main char. Something productive.
If u hear him, rush to camping mule and kill him.
It takes patience, but the camp is inevitable if you wait long enough.
Longest was 176 hours 4 me. But I did get him. And its well worth it. (EoP at level 16 FTW)

Turn up your speakers really really really loud, and go to sleep.
He is the only mob in the zone that makes the eagle squawk, so when he spawns and starts moving uphill toward the gnome tree, you wake up to him beating on you.

I like this idea and what i was thinking, me being a wood elf ranger, Id just sit at the spawn point and turn the enviroment sounds off and combat sounds on and crank up the speakers so when he spawns he beats on me and i get a musical awakening. Am doing this now, only hope he attacks me on the spot. Will update later to tell you if it worked.
Edit 1: Forgot, make sure to turn the music volume all the way up in the general options menu and the sound volume all the way down so you dont get the cougars walking by you sound.
Edit 2: Well, forgot im a really heavy sleeper and i slept right through the music even though my bed is 5 feet from my computer. But i woke up about 1 hour after he spawned give or take a little and found myself in kelethin. Bought some food/water and ran there and got my corpse, luckily this was at 4AM so nobody normal was on and he was still flying around. Killed him and got my piece.

Finally! Stormfeather dropped at 9:20 A.M PDT Thursday, September 29th (Sunday, MAY 01, 3209 1PM Game Time). I zoned in at the druid portal, LD'd lastnight during the port, and ran to the spawn location in between the 3 gnomes and the 3 snow cougars and didn't see Stormy. Was about to leave as this was my 8th day of waiting on him, and boom, he comes flying up from the shore side by the gnomes towards the 3 snow cougars. Was a wimp compared to even my wimpy SK pet =)

Had my ranger camped at spawn point for about two weeks. I check spawn about every 3 hours. Haven't found any sign of the punk for this whole two weeks. one. Does he despawn. saw one post saying he did, wondering if anyone can confirm. Two. is there a possibility that he is on a cycle with midnight, a named cougar that spawns in almost the same location.

Not sure about despawning... usually just dies a lot I would think... especially now that you don't have to take the boat to his island...
No connection to Midnight... Midnight simply is on the same spawn table as all of the cougars roaming around... kill them and he will pop randomly about.

Once Stormfeather spawns, Does he wander around the island or is he Stationary???
You never ever have to bring a tracker, he will wander around the hill there north of where the 3 gnomes are under a tree. He will never go further from the hill...

I have heard tons of spawn times on Stormfeather so here is the real scoop. I have eyepatch on 12 toons btw and have just gotten stormfeather for the 4th straight spawn so i know =P He is a 30-36 hour spawn. Get there at 30 hours after he is killed and sit there for 6 hours. If he doesn't skip you will get him. I know he used to skip but he doesn't seem to anymore. Anyway that's the way you do it.

His timer is either 19 hours or 31 hours. I've seen him spawn at 19 before so you may very well have missed his spawn, someone killed him, and you logged on in time for his next 19 hour spawn and he either came or skipped it, which comes close to your 36 hour timer...

PS- The very best camp method is simply this, log your alt on the hill and forget about it. :p Just keep checking every day no more than a few minutes and eventually he'll be up with no one around when you least expect it. I've even caught him up when I've bound there and gotten killed in a raid.

server reset on the night of april 13th... SF down after waiting 5 mins of running out to see if he was up after a couple hours from the reset :P
I camped this featherhead for nearly 50 hrs and i turn around and see him pop... No sooner i hit attack he despawns (about 5 seconds after his spawn).... HELP!! lol... So Po'ed...

Downed Stormfeather at 10:45:59 alaskan standard time, on mithaniel marr

Stormfeather was downed on EMARR at 9:32pm PST 3/30/05. Location of his spawn point is roughly +5700, +900 in between the patch of trees with 3 gnomes sitting under them and the patch of trees with three static snow cougars under them.
I cannot say what time he was downed before me, only that I had been there 21 hours and 32 minutes exactly. I downed Lodizal at 7:38am PST and again at 7:03pm PST, which would put him at around a 12 hour spawn. Good luck to those who are trying this quest, its annoying but worth it in the end. Happy hunting! :)

lol - I ran down to iceclad at 6:35 AM EST and sat down on a ledge near the gnome camp, and started reading about this quest. After reading everything here, I stood up and turned around and there was Stormfeather.

Took Stormfeather down at 9:20 am EST on Nov 25th right by the 3 gnomes around loc pos 5729, pos 903. Hope this info helps whoever is trying him next. Good luck

Ok. Just did stormfeather 7 times. 6 Were in a row . 33 +/- 3 hours. Not sure about the reports of him spawning at 28 or 29 hours. The final spawn for my ranger my mother came over to the house and while I was afk for all of 5 minutes the ranger got pwn'd by ole Stormy. Well I guess a little bit back from 53 is still good. Have fun camping. The Devs will just tweak him again to throw everyone off anyway.

Stormfeather finally spawned after countless hours of camping--THANK GOODNESS. He aggroed on my 59 ranger in between the trees with the 3 cougars and the 3 gnomes at 2:25p.m. est on the seventh hammer. Sorry don't have first hand knowledge of the last spawn time. Good luck to the next poor soul who's gonna freeze their butt to the iceclad ground. =)

Killed Stormy many times over a 2 week span (getting eyepatch for alts and guildies) his spawn times is roughly 28 hours, +/- 3 hrs he always took at least 26 hours to spawn and as late as 31. got in after a patch or server crash several times within a minutes or it coming back up and never saw him up (each time i was only one in zone too so i doubt he was killed looted and they logged out)
so if you can get last time of death or server reset plan on getting there 25hours later to get a claim on camp

Just killed Stormfeather 2 spawns in a row. Kills were 35 hours, 48 minutes apart. this seems to match the idea of 32hrs +/- 2 hours or so. Looks like if u can find out when he was last killed. be there 30hours later exaclty and claim the camp. Unless he does actually skip spawns which i don't know, u should be okies!

whats the longest hes been camped? I know a guy who's been there 36 so far still going atm
I did 72 hours straight for this featherhead on Torv. Durring this time I had a few people come and try to "take" the camp, they normally gave up in about an hour. After the first 33 hours I was rather miffed at the bird, after 66 hours it became personal. Finally, on the 72 hour mark he spawned... looted the piece with my husband's war and went straight to bed. Long camp... but not as long as Raster was... but that is another story.

Just wanted to confirm that Stormfeather was killed on 10/13/04, at approximately 0045 EST. Now all I have to do is get the map from those pesky tizmaks, and those dire wolves, and I'll have my very own eyepatch! Woot!

I took down Stormfeather at 1:30PM PST today. Before me, he was last killed at 2:30AM yesterday. I know that because I was there when he was killed previously. So in total he was a 35 hour spawn. Longer than 19 hours, but not enough to constitute a skipped spawn.
So judge your camp times accordingly, and good luck to those who have him next on their hitlist.
BTW: I had help dropping Lodi about 6 hours after Stormfeather went down.

I wanted to add that Midnight is NOT a PH for Stormfeather. I killed him 4 times while waiting for SF, and it wasn't anywhere near the time I killed Midnight when SF popped.

I was cruising through on my wizard getting ready to quad kite there as i just dinged 34 and seen him just sitting on top of hill near dock.. logged on my 60 monk real fast and killed,, also this mourning i was cruising through OOT and an ancient cyclops was up.. if anyone needs a rare spawn killed on Rasp send me a tell soon as i zone in it will pop.. charging 10kp to zone into your rare spawns zone..

Just thought I'd pass on what happened to me when camping Stormfeather on Zebuxorok server.
As a Ranger I had 'normal' setting for tracking on, which allows you to see what is or has spawned first in the zone.
Anyway while camping I noticed Midnight (the black cougar) come up and so for the hell of it decided to kill it. Within about 10 seconds of Midnight being dispatched Stormfeather spawned.
Now this could well be coincidental but it sounds like Midnight is a PH for Stormfeather.
Has anyone else had similar experiences with Midnight.
Time of death for those who care was 2.25pm UK Time (10.25am EST)

I decided to finish up the eyepatch quest for my pal's Ranger, not really knowing what I was getting into. Anyway, I head to Iceclad to camp, then check out the posts on Stormfeather only to see what a horrible ordeal it can be. I decided I didn't owe my friend anything, well not that much..so I log out to get lunch, thinking I'll head out afterwards. After lunch, I log back into iceclad. There is a young bard there xp'ing. He asks, "you gonna kill feather"...I reply " yes if I see him".
Then I turn sightly to my left and there is Stormfeather.
I gave the bard the talons and he couldn't understand why I was so happy, saying "I see him up all the time" ...after being pressed he said he's seen him up five times while soloing in IC from lvl 21 to 23. I have personally taken at least 4 characters to xp in Iceclad for long periods, and have never seen Stormfeather up. Maybe there was a change in his rarity..worth checking out for sure.
