Halara
Animal

Uploaded July 24th, 2007
This is a Mob on the Golra island in the Timorous Deep. A Semi-rare spawn, Halara can pop at any of the three Hulking Golra spawn points. Also, there may be multiple Halara spawns up at once, I have had all three. This creature has very high magic resists and hits for double attacks of 98 max. Other Golras will help if you aggro them, but each pull spot is a single pull so don't kite too far. - Xefer Maskim'Xul of Bristlebane

Killed Halara yesterday using my 33 necro with 34 shaman; shaman slowed and aggro-kited while I snared with darkness and dotted with vampiric curse (200-ish per minute lifetap dot) and our pets beat up on it. Took about four minutes to die, but die it did; dropped the mask, but unfortunately the XP sucked, I think we hit the XP cap with that big a difference in levels between us and the mob.
Of course if it had actually been able to hit us much it would have been a different story :).

Halara still does drop the mask, but it seems to be quite rare. We have killed her well over 20 times and it only dropped once.

Ive killed her about 20 times in the last month and Halara dropped nothing just 5pp. Does she still drop anything?

Halara double hits for 98, which is why you get dead very fast if she manages to hit you.
I solo'd her at lvl 36, she will die, it just took i think 25 minutes each time. I did this 4 times, and the cape dropped twice, no mask. Great XP though, she conned red to me.

I (39 wiz) first went after him with a lvl 47 monk. The first go round, the monk lasted about 30 seconds and I was able to kite him down to just under a quarter before he got me.
The next time we were prepared. I kited him until I was almost oom. The monk chased him and hit him while he could. The timing was perfect, and just as BoF broke, the monk hit him, and he turned and ran. All he dropped was a rune.
I stayed there, lvled to 40 on the hulkers, and tried my luck on Halra again. This time however, I was alone. I managed 10 nukes, 9 stuck, doing a total of 3,304 damage. I am guessing that he has a little over 3,500hp. Needless to say, I got toasted. Going to try him again at 42, should have enough mana to finish the job by then.

Me a 38 enchanter and a 49 druid went to this little iceberg and camped Halara. We continually killed golras and hulking golras for about 3 hours and finally Halara popped. We came for the mask and we got the mask. We lucked out and thus did not have to wait for the next Halara to pop. Everything was blue to me and Halara was yellow, needless to say, Halara went down fast, and neither I or the druid even experienced how hard Halara could hit, as we kited it along the shore line as not to aggro the other golras close by. This island is a good spot for any mid 30's to hunt, as its rarely populated and the spawns are fast enough to keep you busy. Any twosome that involves a healer can level quite quickly here.

i think the 98 max damage has to be the hulking golra
