Near the Observatory (near Cognoggin), stands this gnome by the name of Grynnaf Einoom.

'Hail Grynnaf Einoom' Grynnaf Einoom looks at you and wonders if he is looking for the Scalekeeper?

'I am looking for the Scalekeeper' Grynnaf Einoom says 'Ahh...Ye be lookin for Nortlav then. Nortlav is a strong fella. Ye dunna want to mess with the likes of him. He's known as a dragonslayer. I heard that he keeps the scales of the dragons he's slain. Yer not impressed, eh? All the dragons he's killed have died by the blade of a weapon.'

'What rusty weapon?' Grynnaf Einoom says 'Aye. I dunno why he does what he does. But every dragon he's killed died by the likes of a rusty weapon. I dunno where he is now, but I heard he can be found in the depths of Norrath, surrounded by darkness.'

Nortlav is in the Hole, and drops dragon scales and a Rusted Throneblade.

i finally figured it out....been nagging at me and now verant fixed it....in new hole....ruins of old paineel echo of norvalt drops a "Jagged Sword of the DRAGON SLAYER" sk only no one can use.....it fits lol

He dont ask for anything!
Should think he wanted the sword, but risk
a 27dmg 52dly 3str 2dex 2h just to get a
"Thank you" is too much.

hahaha, your all wrong, he spawns anywhere from level 14 to 16, he has been blue black and yellow to my necro at 15, i am 100% sure of his level, hahaha, me thinks he has too many HPs for his level tho...

i hate this guy

I'm a lvl 40 warrioress and i hailed this guy to see what he had to say. 'Grynnaf Einoom look at Kimii and wonders if he is looking for the scalekeeper ' i took this as an insult and kicked the s*** out of him >=)

Anyone Actauly figured this quest out yet? I tried turning in the sword from Nortlav and just got a thank you message

I bet faction was an issue

as for the lvl 55, its wrong and is refering to Nortlav. Lil' gnome punk is like 16 or whatever

Grynnaf conned "looks risky, but might be worth a try" to my level 20 magician. He's more likely in the mid to high teens.

Level is wrong! he is from level 16-18 he cons blue to me at 19 i've killed him since 16, which he conned black to me!
