When you finish the mask of war turn in Bvellos asks for more information to prove Wenglawks Kkeak is a traitor.
Turn in the sealed letter from the shardwing courior in western wastes.
Captain Bvellos says 'This will be that fools downfall. How dare he trade with our enemies! I am sure King Tormax with have him put to death. Take my cloak. It is the last item i have to give. I must see the king immediately about these matters!

Killed him lastnight while 2boxing a 66 cleric and 56 war, was one of the longest fights with the least amout of reward (Glimmering Mithril Torque) bah!
62 Shaman & pet took this guy down. Was a close call with lots of dots, canni, torpor, oom and pet had to be rezzed after the fight. I'll be honest and say I was glad I had gate memorized, just in case. He dropped some meat and a dire wolf-hide cloak: 8ac 6str 6sta 35hp 0.5wt all/all

Soloed him in around 3-5 min as a 65 Chanter, just DC'd a local lvl 46 guard that hits for 151 and gave em' haste, guard was about to die so I rune-tanked the bastard for half the fight... (LR5 pwns pre-pop mobs)

HE took me about 25 minutes to solo him as a 65 chanter. All i got was meat and this Torque.
And oom. If u go there to solo for armor or faction .. let him alone. he can really kick ass

This guy was ugly for a 63 ranger and 63 druid. Had to rely on swarmcaller for the proc. It wore off during the fight. Had to be ch'd three times.

all your going to accomplish by killing him is gettin some crap loot and pissing off a few ppl cuz they cant turn in their heads. trust me it can become frustrating at times
plus good faction... he's a decent faction hit.

at lvl 60 he was cake for me (lvl 60 nec) a lvl 60 shammy and a 53 shammy, took him down without much problems, even got an add, but just parked it with root while we fought bvellos

Finding him up for hand-ins can be a pain. His PH is the Kael Militia Captain who is static, and will not roam out of his room.
He does de-pop after a time and respawns a second or two later. So you may get a chance at spotting Bvellos during these times.
The pain is when people are camping the bank. He'll live for about 2 mins after spawning before he roams out and agro's them.

Just curious after looking thru all these posts. Does anyone know what lvl your faction needs to be to do the quests with him and some of the others? I have gone from 42-44 on my mage soloing dwarves for heads in GD and have turned in about 50-60 heads so far to the Kromrif Recruiter at the EW zone. Half of the giants are warmly but the ones on Bvellos faction are still apprehensive. Also does hunting in SS work faster towards both factions?

The stuff I killed in Skyshrine (Sentries and Guardians, mostly) only gave Kromzek faction, no Kromrif there at all.

eeep if you killed that many dorfs you should have been dubious at the least, and you only need dubious to turn in heads to this guy, you get much better faction hits for giving this guy heads instead of the recruit =\ and you would probably be amiably or ally to king for that many heads

Ive turned in around 100 heads to this guy and gone from max scowl to max ally Kromzek....from max scowl to indifferent Kromrif and max scowl...till well, still scowl to KT. Gonna have to kill Dain a few more times to get good enough faction with KT to turn in Dain head for Dwarf Belt. Its hard to reverse killin' KT and doing AoW =(. Heads work well for raising Zek faction and are ok for Rif...but KT faction, your better off killing Dain/Yeli. If you arent able, i feel sorry for you and good luck.

He has a PH which is Kael Milita Captain, he also likes to go wandering and he wanders up past Kings bridge past where King Tormax spawns and into room with Keldor the guy who drops Orb of Infinite Void. He seems to stand there for a while then wanders back to bank. I think he chats to one of the giants in that room but i can't remember what he talks about. He also likes to buff every giant he passes on the way there and back with his Pally HP buff.

We were fighting at WL zone for CoV faction for turn-ins on SS armor (just need one boost to ally). Pulled the bank to zone and thought we'd give Bvellos a try. It was a tough fight, but we got him.

we were doing a small mini raid in kael we got up near bank and who decides to jump us as we were killing some guard Captain himself 2 whole groups of 50 dead in 3 mins. ither we screwed up or err well we screwer up. yah i was on a kael mini raid at 37 died in 3 hits 240 x 3 = dead monk

Then he pulled a Giant Militia Longsword, Glimmering Mithril Torque, Glowing Black Sword out his back pocket yo. I was like "hey yo, how you fits that stuffs in yo back pocket?" and he was like "it's a secret yo". I said "can you tell me" and he said "I can'ts yo, if I did it would be a secret yo". So I was "alright". Then he gave me the Giant Militia Longsword, the Glimmering Mithril Torque, and the Glowing Black Sword. I was like "thanks yo, but you still haven't givin me the secret about how you stuffed all that sh*ts down yo back pocket". He said" I can'ts tell you yo" and I was like "you betters!". He said "no", and I was like "that's it yo!". I took my Giant Militia Longsword and stuck it in his fohead, then I pushed the Glimmering Mithril Torque up his butt yo, and finally I took my Glowing Black Sword and cut his balls off. Anyone know if there is a way to trigger his spawn or how long before he spawns by himself?

His placeholder is "Kael Militia Captain". Though I have no idea how you can spawn him. I just went to go turn in heads and the PH was there. Bah!

A couple guildies and myself dropped this guy. Fortunately there was a buff warrior to tank him. We were 52monk(myself), 51warrior, 55shadowknight, 49cleric, and 51magician. The warrior must have been 55-60. We were able to get him along and pummel him pretty badly. The warrior that tanked only needed a couple three complete heals and we were good to go. If we wouldnt have had his help, we woulda been whiped whithout him breaking a sweat. He dropped the torque. Is it rare drop now? or still common?

my guild went here yesterday on a raid and fought this guy, overall wasnt too bad only one death out of about 15 people and it was me..guess he took offense to me meddin while everyone else was killin him, killed me before i stood up, dropped a GBS but i didnt win the roll.

Our guild got wiped by this guy last night....we had 1 cleric but about 5 druids and god knows how many tanks....about 25 people all level 45+ on this guy. And yes....he is about 150% harder if he has the GBS (which he unfortunately did) plus he resists a ton....our 49 wizard got resisted every time. Good luck and kill this guy for me!

We had a lvl 53 war tankin him (although I believe he died, but our 52 war SA stepped up) and we were fine. We single pulled him easily. Lucky for me he dropped the GMT and guess who got it? ME!

He also drops Direwolf Hide Cloak, 8ac 6str 6sta I think are stats. Lost roll on it so nto exactly sure easy with a group of lvl 50 hits for 225 max.

This is an awesome weapon for those under level 40. I think it procs at 40, but not sure. The stats are great for a lower level guy, I used this all the way up to level 35. Of course, I had to purchase it :). Anyway, loot up, and sell to the lowbies - on my server it goes for about 1k.
Had a mini raid on Kael today with barely 10 people. He owned us all prolly cause we didn't expect him to be so strong. He summons, and he was holding the GBS. Hit me for 245max, 54 Ranger.

We killed him with a 48 monk, 51 warrior, 52 monk, 54 cleric, 52 druid, and a 52 rogue. He likes to cast heal on himself alot. We thought we were going to be short handed because when you pull him, he's buffed to high heavens. Like that mattered tho because he had the Glowing Black sword and debuffed himself. heh heh

Anyone ever consider the fact that if you give the Glowing Black Sword to a high level mob, like Inny for example, that it would cause him to debuff himself, making him an easier victim, and killing a god would be much easier? Food for thought...
As far as I know, most "cursed" weapons proc on the target in the hands of an NPC.

Thinking about all the times we've killed this guy, I'd say that all 3 of the pieces (cloak, sword, and torque) drop about evenly in rarity from one another. But we could have just been getting lucky on the torques, becuase the first 4 times were all torque drops.
Of course now that we can go in and take him with 4 people, the bastard never drops the torque for us heh. Go figure.

I did this guy easy, me 55 monk, a 59 epic monk, 60 epic cleric, 60 epic Mage, 59 epic wizard, that was all, dropped him in about 1 min. No deaths think cleric was at 80m when done, was fun fight, hopefully he is a good faction hit.

correct me if i am wrong but if this giant is a paladin wouldn't it be impossible to hold the glowing black sword? or is this another verant screw up
NPCs have different rules than we do. Last time I killed General V'ghera, he was using a 2hs weapon (which I now own) and a shield, both at the same time. Wish we could do that ^_^ \/

was in kael last night. i conned kindly to him. i'm banking in the same room as him, all of a sudden i see him charge at me. of course i died. some type of faction bug i suppose.

We took this guy out with a 57 druid, 55 warrior, 54 wizard, 52 bard, 51 cleric, and 53 SK. He was wielding the Glowing Black Sword and put up quite a fight. The cleric and wiz were FM when we started and got down to almost 0m, the druid went from 80 to 0 also. Just as the warrior died (cleric OOM) he started running, we got really lucky on that part. Hits for max 215, don't let him agro on your casters.

On a side note he is a paladin and he will LoH when he gets to like 20 percent health.

We had about 3 groups (16people) levels 45-56 from my guild just doing some easy faction work at the WL zone line. Anyhow, I wind up pullin this guy and boy did he put up a fight.
He had the Glowing black sword, so he kept on dispelling the debuffs we were throwing on him and he has a NASTY regen. We wound up losing 4 people total (one was sitting down and got summoned so that really means 3) and wound up with a pretty dang nice sword for the bard that was with us.

I am not 100% sure it was him, cause we wasted some other giants aswell, and I wasn't looting, but we got Runed Circlet (Permafrost) and Crystaline Belt (Crystal Caverns) off that giant.
I haven't been into Kael at all yet, but when I am apprehensive I will turn in the Dorf Heads I have been collecting. I assume this guy is either a Kromzek or Kromrif otherwise this quest would be too hard to do to raise King Tormax faction.

He is on the storm giant faction, Kromzek I believe. You can turn heads into him at dubious. I went from dubious to apprehensive after turning in 6 coldain heads. Great boost.

You can also turn in heads to him if you are KOS, provided you do it invis, since invis = Indifferent faction. (did it lat night)
