Ok I camped this joker for a little over 2 days and he spawned 6 times. His PH's seem to be all non-moblie positions. There are two at the entrance and one in the Chief's room (left side). I first had little success killing EVERYTHING and it ended up wasting a lot of time (20+ hours). Then I decided to leave the named mobs (Chief RokGus, Soothsayer Dregzak & Overseer Dlubish) along with the an angry goblin & Briarweb Spider ROOMS. Then I saw a bodyguard at the entrance. That's when I only focused on the two placeholders at the entrance. I later saw a maddened burynai pop at the entrance spots. Key note: If you see the "a maddened Burynai" HE IS A PLACEHOLDER Kill it and remember where it spawned! Then I realized... I saw a maddened burynai on the left side of the Chief's room. So I then kept that spot empty. Sure enough.... I would login every 20mins and wipe out these 3 PH's. 3 circlets and 3 whips later, I'm done! Goodluck

hello i am on ab server and im pulling this whole cave and like 6-7hours still no spawn is this just this rare or did they move it?
I've been able to spawn the goblin bodyguard three times, two of which dropped the circlet. He's spawned in the same place each time, which is in the room where Chief RokGus spawns. As you enter the mines, take a right, then a left to a big circular room. I found that I was able to spawn him by simply clearing the room repeatedly, although I did clear the static spawns in the hallway without seeing him there. Spawn times seemed on the order of 20 mins or so.
The one time he didn't drop the circlet, he dropped a Whip of Strangulation, which I don't see listed among his loot.

Dropped Gauntlets of Potence today on 5-27-7.
He, as well as all of the other static mobs, have a spawn time of around 20 minutes.

When you walk into the cave, you can head to the right or the left. At that intersection, 3 mobs spawn. He is the pop in the middle, and has a pet. After many many days of camping this cave [have to be pretty bored to do it] he popped twice tonight. The second time, he did drop the circlet.
Plan on bringing a few sack lunches to camp this guy.

It popped in the middle cave (not in corridor) for me. Took me less than 2 hours. Clear the place twice and on third visit it was there, and dropped the Circlet.

dropped off bodyguard in same room as named soothsayer . dropped circlet ... seen in bazaar anywhere from 2-6K on Saryn

Good location, approx -2000, 2000. was in zone for 15 min, walked into entrance, a slaver,body gaurd and pet. solo w/45 sk, wiped floor with both em. Too easy! circlet first drop.

This guy spawns in the little tunnel inside one of the big mountains in frontier (the entrance to the tunnel is at the base of the mountain it has a long, black platform over it). I dunno the exact location coord. but its in between the burning woods zoneline and the mines of nurga zoneline. Look for a huge mountain you cant miss it. Inside the tunnel there's a bunch of named goblins and other higher lvl casters (healers, nukers, shadow knights [they harm touch]). Most are dark/light blue to my lvl 46 shadowknight. The bodyguard spawns randomly around that tunnel mostly close to the chief. The bodyguard is a necro/shadowknight and he has a pet. The circlet is a common drop.

Been camping it the past three days and I have had the Bodyguards spawn near the Chief and the two other spawn spots in that area. They have dropped the Whip of Strangulation as often as the Circlet. Been having about 1 bodyguard to 5 Chief spawns.

Circlets were commonly dropping off the 10 bodyguards ive killed today, ive let 6 rot allready allong with 2 essence of dol (sorry guys but there wasnt any noobs in the zone to give them to) i have seen 1 whip and no gaunts as of yet but ill be there till i have my idol and gaunts
ps tough solo but once you get the hang of it its a cakewalk

I was there with my guild for 6 hours and kept the room spotless the whole time and we did not even see one bodyguard. The drop maybe be pretty common but the bodyguard spawn seems to be rare.

Yes its pretty common, for like 3h+ camp they will drop about 3x.
Common drop: Circlet of Shadow 5 ac +10 mana/save poison/disease effect: gather shadows(instant no cast time, no recast delay, need not be worn)
Uncommon: Whip of Strangulation: 1hs 8/24 effect: choke
Rare: Gauntlets of Potence ac 8 str +15
He can spawn at any spawn point in the chief room, and in the area below the chief room...albeit rarely.

These are gloves are good for monks, i rate them the top 3 best gloves for the class. Gauntlets of Fiery Might being the best, i rate this second, and Treant Fists third. Shiverback would be after.

wouldnt feel too bad, 15 str is nice, but AC is king. So comparing these to class only gloves from kunark, which go for 5kish, you may have got a decent deal.

I can now confirm that these do infact drop from this mob. I received the Gauntlets of Potence today. Woohoo. Sadly I parted with them for a FBSS. I have screenshots to remember them by though. The stats are AC 8 Str +15 Wt. 3.0 All/All. And these are an ultra rare drop of a rare spawn.

Ok these things are ULTRA RARE! I have been taking my 61/62 Necro down to chief and collecting salts/skins/Idol of Thorned for my alts who are doing the Chardok ring quest. I also Power Level my alts by grouping them with the necro (On Stormhammer this works only when the lvl range is 20 or less). So will take my cleric up to lvl 41, group him with the necro and just sit there under the wooden ledge where the chief spawns and just soak up the exp. Of course my necro gets nothing, but as we know necros with pets kill fast and easy with lots of mobs around. So anyway, I have hunted there in REAL TIME hours, 100+ and NEVER seen the guantlets drop. Now I am not trying to jack the price up, cause one day in the bazaar on Stormhammer, I saw a guy in /OOC asking 2500pp for them. /OOC SOLD! was my reply. My rogue wears them when he is doing normal hunting, then I switch to Guantlets of Fiery Might when I go raiding; for the +7 to all saves. These guantlets are SUPER RARE from my experiences in Droga. I would not mind getting another pair. If you want to deal, and you are on Stormhammer, please look up the trader, 'Yabe'.

Whoa you got ripped. FBSS goes for like 9k... these gloves go for over double that. Much rarer and one of the best gloves in the game

Common on this guy is Goblin Slavers Whip: 5/23 +10 Hp. He hangs out by the Chief.
