The strathbone shield is dropped randomly and rarely from any spider in the zone. It doesn't need to be a specific type. I've heard of them being dropped from all different types.

Cleared this room out showing party how to get back to entrance zone.I call it walking the circle. good way to get a feel for thedungeon before you go in any deeper.When you have a monk and a party under forties its best to fd these guys and pull them to the drop.This way you dont get any adds.Once you clear the room you can camp room opposite side of where spiders spawn. They wont aggro. from here you have three rooms to pull from.around the corener is the hall to the drop and the shaft to the runelord room.Best way to get to runelord room is to go down drop ad go right. Left tunnel from drop is the way back to zone in.To get to reaver room and library from zone in take left passage drop. Open door and drop.(levitate would be good here).youll have four pops in the room ahead.clear this way and work your way up. you will come out in the courtyard to the library. clear these minions out and start pulling to this corner from house.Note this court corener is best cleared from tunnel.Once you sevured this pull spot expect spawns every five minutes to ten minutes.I suspect front courtyard is a better place to pull but never got aa chance to check it out. It is very risky to camp inside library for if librarian doesnt get rooted he will aggro everything he can in the library and outside.Ward pops in the back courtyard
Yah after killing stuff and frenzied in this zone more, I am well aware that it was bogus of me to camp frenzied to try to get a shield. You should just bring a monk with fungi tunic or a high lvl mage in here to mass slaughter these if you want a shield.
Would probably take a good 3 to 4 days at least if you did it the old fashioned way killing and meditating, etc. Just get a group from guild or monk-fungi/mage to slaughter all the spiders here. Killed about everything in the zone yesterday with my monk and only saw 2 rares drops (rogue piercer and weight pack).
There's no one mob that would drop the shield easier based on their difficulty, so just kill all of the spiders to increase the chances.

Truesilver armor, I assume this is randomized to fit it's loot tables, we only killed it once, and we looted Truesilver arms. This thing can be nasty, at lvl 41 it actualy landed a root on me, and in doing so cause a bad chain of death.

What are the placeholders?

Placeholders are a Strathbone Spider (necro), a briarweb spider (warrior), and raveners. I don't know which Verant employee thought up Raveners but they look like sperm with big nasty teeth and they make splat sounds when they attack. Looks like something I'd run from in a nightmare after eating a bunch of pizza and going to bed. We were there for an hour and a half and only one frenzied spawned. he fought just like a strathbone spider (necro spells, low hp) and dropped the mask.

The strathbone shell shield drops off any spider in kaesora. I looted one from a briarweb downstairs. The cryptrobbers Knife, not blade, is 7/20 with DEX +4 not AGI. It is his rare drop. He is a random spawn with PH's not on a 1 1/2 hour spawn as that other idiot suggested. It's just like any other mob with PH's. I had the frenzied spawn 3 times in a row. It is easy to solo post lvl 45, but the loot really sucks anyhow so why bother.

Hello, I camped this room for 8 hours and just wanted to share some info as to a good way to do it.
First of all you need to be able to kill strathbone healers. If you cant kill them, you shouldnt be here. Second you need to be able to kill the frenzy strathbone. Frenzy has about 2000 hitpoints or so and does double 84s? Only hit me for 82s but I am very armor clad. I wouldnt even think about soloing here unless you have a group of lvl 35s or you are about 43+
OK first off you enter kaesora... drop left at first fork. Avoid the entrance mob if you can... waste of time. Put on invis as if you walk close to the door in front of you, you will probably have a strathbone healer attacking you. to your right is the frenzy room with 3 mobs against the wall, door in front of you and passage to the right.
Follow passage to the right and hang an immediate left. at this little alcove before the dropoff you should see either a famished ravener, bristleweb spider or strathbone healer. Its usually a healer.
You need to keep the healer room clear as when the mobs from frenzy room start to run or get close to healer room they will get healed by the healer and come back an asswhoopin. Second, if anything drops off the edge, gate if it doesnt die to dot etc. If it doesnt die, it will come back with friends and jump you when you least expect it. Have gate memmed at all times.
OK frenzy room. Middle spawn is frenzy or strathbone always. Frenzy is about a 1 in 1 1/2 hour spawn so if you dont have about 3+ hours to kill you wont see it but once. Right spawn is ravener, bristleweb, briarweb, or strathbone. Same with left spawn. Do not run up to the right corner, 2 briarweb will run thru the door and attack you. You want to pull from the corner opposite the door in this room.
In 8 hours I've seen 6 Frenzied:
First 5 were just plain ol mask of 8 eyes 3ac 2sta 2dex lore. (good for monk, but thats about it)
6th time I got truesilver arms. Iksar warrior wearable, but just looks like banded when worn on iksar. Looks like good rogue or ranger armor if you dont like the look of azure sleeves. 11ac 3.5 weight on those, but you wont look like a gimp =) Never got any cryptrobbers blade or shield yet, but I'm expecting another 24 hours of camping at least before getting my shield.

This critter drops a GREAT cleric shield. AC 19, +8 wis, +5 man, +10 vs poison. Cleric only.

The common drop for this mob is a mask. The mask of 8 eyes or something. The stats aren't that great, I don't remember it though hehe
