i had an interesting encounter wit this freak once. i was running around oasis, waiting for some of my friends to show so we could kill SG's and specs. i was the first here so i was runnin around killing. i was level 33 at the time and i saw this guy. i had just previously had a run-in with a SG who conned blue to me. i got him down when i got low on hp and ran off aggro with high level sow. so i charged to this dude after some guildies told me to kill him immediately. he was green so i commenced owning him. then, after getting him down, he started running off. as using a 2hs, i couldnt land a hit for awhile, and when i did POW POW POW the old SG that didnt like me from before started hitting me. i kept on hitting hatar. i eventually killed him, looted the turban as fast as i could and POW POW POW AHHH!!!! im dead, but i got the turban, sold it for good cash too =)

me and my group were standing next to the gypsies while the cleric in my group was healing us and BOOM all of a sudden this freak of nature appeared and stated ripping me to shreds!! He didn't even think about my group , he was only after me!! And right when i saw him and he hit me, my SoW ran off. so i had fun getting all the way back here when im bound in neriak..

i owned this guy today on my baby necro (lvl 15)
rather easy and killer xp. formula is simple- get sow. get crack, ( i had c3) and make yer pet. this guy has really low mr because he resisted my snare only twice, and fear 3 times. all i did was pull with snare, then fear him and let the pet wack on him, no need to get my hands dirty hehe. i will say dont try this at lvl 15 unless u have pretty nice gear and at least c2 to keep the snares/dots/fears going and a new pet or 2. yes i did go thru 3 pets killn him, from when he resisted my fears, but he is do-able if u r smart.

this guy is easy. i soloed him with a 22 war today. i got nice gear and 1010 HP. he got me down to 89 HP> i started with full life. i also got his rare drop. though i was going to get spanked. i was happy!!!!!!!!

When i use to hunt in Oassis he would allways pop next to the dock in that little valley area across from the rock tower, conned even to a lvl 18 though, and i allways got ksed by some of the spect/SG hunters.

As that other person mentioned, yes some people do have the luck of getting better gear early on. Right now I am a level 16 gnome warrior with barbed ringmail on, yes the kind that drops off of dragons, but I grouped with some other high level people with my higher level shaman to get that good gear. My warrior wears alot of hit points and stamina gear to give him extra hit points, at about any given time in the game, he has about 400 more hitpoints then he should have at his level, at level 16, he has 825 hitpoints. I was twinked early on. You know the chessboard in Butcher Block Mountains, well with my good gear, I soloed the whole board at level 14.

actually, most of the paladins ive grouped with hold up thier end better than warriors- clerics definitly dont have to heal paladins or shadowknights as much as they do warriors in my experience

Warriors are healed more because their purpose is to take damage. Thats why they get no spells and tons of HP.

I noticed something alot of people when they say something is heard some jerkoff comes along and screams ya right he is a wuss i soloed him this i soloed him that it is so retarted. To be honest if you are so damn strong why not fight some deepwater goblins ya they will kick your ass up and down oasis all day. It all really depends on your armor. So people are lucky to get good deals on good armor or weapons some aren.t So for the people who think there charecter is so damn powerful than fight something you think its all mighty ass should be fighting not some damn weak creature.

Well, I saw him for the first time last night, and he really is a wuss. There was a lvl 13 warrior soloing him. I cast lay hands once to help the guy out, and he won.
BTW I also think he is not related to cazel. Mainly because as the guy killed Hatar Cazel was wandering around not very far behind us.

alright guys stop fighting, you all know that any good caster who has strategy could kite or hp tap the pants off of you. i double kite reds on my 21 necro and solo blacks(i hate kiting8)). Sure i've had my share of whoopins but i just want to say that any necro druid wizzie enc or cleric could whoop you guys up

I hope ya learn eral soon that paladins really suck at soloing. That way you won't suddenly get hit with a high xp death cuz you think its just as easy as it was at lv 10.

Paladins do not really suck at soloing just so you know. I have soloed my paladin for most of his career, yes I have died a few times but even in a group people will die with a bad pull.

I had just started a Dorf Cleric (Been playing over a year, though)on Antonius Bayle. A friend of mine and myself were beating the stuffing out of the Dervs in the camp near Otillus in Sro. At some point I was chasing a ghoul to pull back to my friend, when I saw a SG at the DE camp. Targeted him and pondered his name, Hatar. Never seen him till now. Told my friend to get his main and show him around SRo, Dr00d style. He went down like a groovy tune.
I realy want to know how long or what causes this guy to spawn. Ive seen him 3 times and was allways KSed of my kill. So id like to know where or when he pops so i can be right there to say hello with my nuke =)

Well sir i just saw your post and for any1 out there THIS IS THE BEST XP EVER FOR LVL 10 THROUGHT 21! Fight caimens then caimens and crocks then both thos plus DW caimens then all 3 plus DW crocs i lvled from lvl 15 to 21 in 1 week with 3 hours a day nonstop fighting! I am a warrior and got buffed and thats how i went non stop ) but if your not a buffed warrior dont try to take yellow DW stuff, they will kick your arse if your not twinked or buffed. The DW crocs hit pretty hard at lvl 19 throught 21 they hit me around 48 sometimes! Wasnt bad since i was buffed tho and a friendly druid or cleric always was there to heal me, from 21 i went to HK( high keep) off off kithicor off of highhold which is off of Kithicor forest by WC and EK, and now im lvl 25, had a bad lvl 24 slump, now im about 26 ive been 25 fer only 2 days! Hope this helps u on fighting

Yeah, this is helpful info, speaking of where you went AFTER the Oasis. I'm right there in my level now (level 20) and I'm so sick of Oasis. The crowds can be enough to make you scream if you hunt during prime time, so I'm not staying around for level 21 there.
I've heard that HPH and LOIO are good choices after the Oasis, but I'm not sure which I'll do. I've been raking in the cash from the Bandits of Karana sash quest, and I hate going through Kithicor, so I'll probably go to High Pass for experience.

Was just getting ready to head to OT with my slow-@$$ friend and was chillin' on the docks, waiting for him. Checked tracking and there dis guy was, snared, rooted, dotted and 10-15 secs later my monkie had a nice new head item.

Well for a pet he drops good loot. If I was going to charm some mob as a pet it sure wouldnt be a lev 22ish SG unlyss for some strange reason I wanted to hunt crocs on the beach. ( my lev 44 animation ripped him to shreds )

This guy under cons, i was lvl 16 druid and i was grouped with a lvl 17 monk and we were going to go fight him just to see if we could kill him. When we got to him a lvl 32 bard was already attacking him. Hatar chewed that guy up i me and that monk had to save him. He did just barly more dmg and got the loot and exp which sucked. But what am i gonna do? im thinking about crying but i dunno next time i see this guy (im lvl 19 druid now) im gonna try to solo his butt and get that turbine thing for my friends monk and after that im gonna hand his head to cazel on a silver platter and say that he screamed like a little girl when i beat his face in. Also i think itll be funny for me (halfling) to kill Hatar who is big and fat and brown.

A small group (a level 22 warrior, a cleric in the high teens, a wizard also in the high teens) and I (a level 19 rogue at the time) were leaving Oasis to go hunt Dark Elf guards in a nearby zone. As we were running towards the zone we saw the giant and I happened to con him. He was yellow to me and I mentioned it to our group. The thought of us taking on a giant was more then any of us could resist (being that we wanted to reach the all powerful 20th level and get a surname.) So we ran up to him and starting beating on him. I slipped in behind him while the warrior starting grabbed his attention with his sword. Even though it conned yellow to me I was for the most part useless in the battle. I was able to connect a few backstabs but they were considerably lower damage than what I normally inflicted and only twice did the giant even turn to acknowledge that I was there. (Like being bitten in the back by a fly while a pit bull chews at your leg.) Thanks to the others in the group (and maybe my 2 or 3 connecting backstabs) we were able to fell the giant. He dropped the Jambiya which the warrior won. So for the rest of the week I had the pleasure of saying that I helped kill a SG. Now I just can't wait until I can actually say it and not have to whisper *it was only Hatar and I only did maybe 20% of the damage.*

He spawned right in the middle of orc highway, we killed him and he spawned in the exact same spot about ten minutes later... don't know if that was just coincidence or if he was somehow triggered.

saw him today at orc highway in oasis. He conned yellow to a 19 pal. Somebody kill stole him and took his loot. He's a very popular guy, so if you find him take the oppertunity.

heh, I(level 15 rogue), Shrunken, and my group were killing orcs when this guy popped at the highway. anyway, 1 person said he had killed him before and we all attacked him. our group consisted of levels 14-18. Our druid only casted about 5 heals before he died. He dropped the turban and I lost. =( Oh well, maybe next time!

It is believed that this certain named SG is the spawn of Cazel, my guild killed Cazel and Hatar Spawned, we killed Cazel a few days later and Hatar didn't spawn. I think he's a rare spawn after killing Cazel.

I walked into the zone and there he was I killed him and he dropped the Dagger. He is kinda hard my 33sk got down to almost half life just killing him. I have been in Oasis for forever and never seen him.

I (lvl 37 Cleric) was hunting with 3 friends (lvl 35 Warrior, lvl 38 Warrior and lvl 37 Wizard) in the Oasis. After Spectres turned out to be no option, we decided to hunt Sand Giants instead.
We got a few, at the same time keeping track of not getting too close to Cazel, and right as we decided to log for the night after one last kill, we stumbled across this guy. We were between the docks and the zone line to NRo (I'd say about halfway between NRo and the Docks), close to the waterline, and he was just standing there. Not sure if he spawned there, but since we had not seen him move into the area (we were scouting for them), I guess he spawned there.
Easy kill for us, went down before I needed to cast a single heal. Now my question is: what is his COMMON drop, and what his RARE? The info here states the Turban is rare ... if that's the case, we are lucky to have gained a Rare Drop off a Rare Spawn! :)

Basically I got lucky. I was playing my 18 enchanter when a SG snuck up and killed me. Getting completely pissed off I switched char's and went hunting SG's with my mage for revenge when then I stumble upon Hatar attacking a young rogue. I went to the rescue, but alas I could not save the rogue (no I did not KS he was running away not even trying to engage). Hatar went down after about 2-3 nukes and I got the Turbin, can't deside if I want to sell it or keep it. Great stats on it.

Interesting. Who do you believe? How do you really tell what the min / max level of a mob is? I hope its not from another 3rd party source whose data is not either from an official source, i.e. Verant or derived directly from an installed data file.

Well all i know is he must still spawn because i killied him last night -- got the turbine which i think is an AWESOME monk head piece 10AC and SVmagic for only 0.3stone -- WOW!! but hey im not a monk so im not familiar with their gear!! unknown on spawn point -- i just saw a MINI SG and it conned green so i killed him! wouldnt mind the dagger either
