Babbinsport, a rare spawn gnome necromancer. He is probably near the same lvl as third floor shadowknights because it takes me a itty bit more than one spell to kill him. Yet he is harder than the sk's because of his pet. He drops the Icon of the Ardent for the Cleric's gaunlet quest. To get to him, go to the female shadow knight room, the one that has 3 spawn points in the room, not the other side that has 4. Then turn right back around and go straigt, when you leave the room, and cross the main larger room, you will come to another door, go through it, there should be 2 spawns in there, and a fallen pillar of wall to your left. He spawns on the other side, about a 2 hour wait in between spawns, and yes, he has a place holder. =(

I was in Befallen with my wood elf druid today and saw a gnome who looked the same as this one named Boondin Bobbinsbort right where this guy should have been. He was amiable to me and conned light blue at 35. He gave no faction when killed and dropped the Icon of the Ardent and a regular dagger.
I think it's safe to say his name has been changed.

Wandering around Befallen when I saw a players corpse on other side of the fallen pillar, I took a closer look and low and behold there he was. Conned blue and had no pet (maybe thanks to our fallen comrade in arms) I doomed him and sicked pet, he suprised the heck out of me with his nuke which took me down to about 2 bubs of health.. so I returned the favour with a quick life suck and acid blast and he dropped dead. I then completed the gauntlets quest and gave them to a low lvl cleric. I have been back a few times since and he hasnt been up. Oh and I swear he had black hair..not white.

Kiled him last night. As a 29 Paladin they might have upgraded him a little for I was frced to use LOH to take him out. He hit me 3 different times for around 150 each time and tripple dotted me. I was bashing him throughout the figt so I had also stopped several of his spells. Still spawns same palce and I was there for another 4 hours after killing him ensuring i was killing all place holders and never seen him return so not sure of respawn rate. He did drop the icon but no clerics present to allow the loot.

I have killed this guy twice recently with my 52 druid. He has less than 612 hp, because one cast of my spell "starfire" (which does that much damage) drops him dead instantly and causes his pet to despawn as well.
One thing puzzles me about him, however. He cons "amiable" to me. I'm a halfling druid who worships Karana. So far as I am aware, I have generally crappy faction with every necro guild in Norrath, yet here's a gnomish necro who actually likes me.
I'd say that was a bit odd.
I get no faction hit from killing him, either positive or negative, so I don't know which faction he is aligned with. Is it possible that he is aligned with the "Primordial Malice" alignment? Multiple killings of Kizdean Gix out in WC have given me a lot of positive faction hits with them. I'm not aware of any other "evil" factions that I have been raising significantly recently.

I doubt it because i've never killed Kizdean gix, or adjusted my factions with that group, and he also conned amiable to my monk

A friend of mine is a lvl 23 rouge he took this little guy with very little diffculty so if you know how to play your charecter at lvl 23 you should be able to kill him at lvl 23

He's got more HP than most anything I found in the zone, I was just hunting in the 3rd level with my 40 Warrior, and I came across him and his pet, plus a ghoul and of all things, a willowisp.. Directions to him are correct, but the wait time is over 2 hours. I conned him green, and the only thing i can say about a 35 taking him is, hit him fast! His pet isnt too much to worry you, but his spells hurt a bit, he hit me at least 2 times for right around 140 points before my Dual Lammy's sliced him and his pet into goo. Dropped the Icon of Ardent, and a rusty dagger, a few gold and silver. I think a 35 can take him with very little trouble. =) -Nitud Dakid, 40 Warrior,Prexus Server

With the changes to befallen his name was changed to Boondin the Enslaved, and he is indifferent to everyone. Be careful how you fight him he will be attacked by anything and everything that gets near. As it says above there is a 2 hour spawn time and yes he does have a place holder it is called a re-animated sacrifice. Another things for the people saying they dropped it or trying to sell it, the item is no drop.

I was in Befallen yesterday just playing around as I was bored. Don't really need the icon though I have the ingot of ardent already. Anyway when he spawns now he has his whole name over his head Boondin Babbinsbort. While camping him there were 2 spawns in the room.. at no time was there a spawn behind the rock where he spawns. He popped while the other 2 were up.. he then proceeded to kill the necro thurgist that was standing there then went back to his spawn point where I got to beat on him some. But the fact that nothing ever popped in his spot but him leads me to believe he does not have a ph.

I was wandering around Befallen for no good reason, they fixed it finally and I was having fun killin everything with one spell, when I happen upon a blue in my tracker. Well, fom and health, I found him and took him very easy, though I was there for about 2 1/2 hours and he was there the entire time. He dropped the item, and I left it there and since I was the only one left in Befallen, I went out into WC and yelled it was there if somone hurried very fast. I left after that.

Just saw him today, with his last name. Conned yellow/indifferent to lvl 23 iksar monk. I tried to kill him by working him down a bit, feigning, and binding, but I run out of bandages.

If you looking for him, look out for 'Boondin the Enslaved' ... same as before, just different name, also not scowl as other mob does. (except some, maybe)

Just camped this guy for the Icon of the Ardent as a level 40 cleric...some tips for you:
1) He is a 4 hour spawn, NO placeholder. If he's not there, either go away and come back later, or settle down and read a book =)
2) If he pops while you're there, IMMEDIATELY stun him to stop him buffing himself or summoning a pet. Then just Wrath, Wrath, Wrath him till he drops...
3) Keep resist/endure poison on yourself...he likes to chain cast the level 24 nec spell Shock of Poison...ouch
4) Root him before he runs...the rest of the dungeon mobs WILL attack him.

I am a lvl 25 cleric on the Tholuxe Paells server. Went to 3rd floor of Befallen with another lvl 25 and found Boondin in no time. Rooted his pet and killed Boondin in about 5 minutes. Easy as that. Just my 2cp)

I was in Befallen lastnight and I killed everything on the 4rd floor to try and get him to Spawn and after 3 hours I gave up and went to bed.
Can you tell me what his placeholder is and whether the 3hour spawn time is for either him or a placeholder..??? I didn't see anything spawn behind the log while I was in Befallen.

To my knowledge, he has no placeholder. If he is not behind that fallen piece of ceiling in that one room on the third floor, then he has yet to spawn. My advice is just keep checking the area every so often and kill other things while you wait, like the SK's or Amiaz or the Thaumaturgist.

he does not despawn, he gets attacked by everything down there. it just so happens i was sitting in a room when this gnome comes in attacking zombies, ghouls and just about the whole third floor. Well i was going to help the poor guy out but it was a named nps so i killed him!!

I'm a lvl 32 ranger who happened to be in befallen trying to get a gossimer for my wizzy, when up pops this little guy on my tracking screen. I decided to find him and see what was up. He conned blue to me, so I figured 'cool some experience'. His magic skin absorbed most of my blows and before I knew it I was down to a bub of health left. I barely got out. stick out of this matter melee people
Yeah, right. Melee can't take him. Sure. Watched a monk take him, then watch a ranger take him, followed by a long sting of clerics. Then I decided to kill him. Not too hard from this SK. He actually stood for more than a few hits. BTW, I was using a Soul Leech. Big surprise, he died. I think it only took about 3 hits, so prolly no more than 450 or so hp's. MR is something you will prolly want for him, though. Especially if he's closer to your level than he was to mine.

Here's my input. Had a warrior, a monk, me (a rogue), and a cleric, all level 17. We took him with relative ease. Unfortunately, since most of the third floor still hates you at this level, we ended up with half of the baddies on the whole floor in on the fight. We ended up triumphant, but with everyone at less than a bub of health and the cleric OOM. She did get the quest item, though :) He was relatively easy with a group this size once you got past him absorbing the hits. I guess what I'm trying to say is if you try it at this level, have your group prepared for a crowd.

I am a 40th monk and camping in befallen for these stupid headband quests. I am gunnin for the thaumaturgist to spawn so I can get out of this boring dungeon so Im clearing out the 3rd floor.. killing everything. I happen upon boodin and he is low green so I smack him. and in the course of 30 seconds I am down to two bubs of health and running to feign. I was shocked. I need to go back and smack him good. I have two canes of tranquils and fbss but my resistances are poor.

Talk to Gavel the Temperate in the Temple of Solusek Ro for the Galvanized/Vulcanized/etc Platinum...you just give him a bar of enchanted platinum, and he returns the requested type.

At 34th level he still cons blue, so 25 is about right. However, his pet is especially nasty for only being a 25 Necro. Solo, fully buffed, with good equipment I could only barely take him down and his pet got me (it was hitting doubles for 60's which shouldn't be possible). However, add one other person and he becomes laughably easy. Weird, eh?

A mob that hits for 24 is usually level 11, (11 * 2 + 2), so i guess he hit below his maximum... if a level 59 mob hit for 24 it would be camped 24/7 :)

Sarnarks in Lake of Ill maners hit for 54 while they usally are level 23. Also, Torklar Battlemaster in Unrest doubles for 80 and Bashes for 26 while he cons even at 20. The netherbithan warriors in netherbithan lair con even at level 25 yet do a max dmg of 40 or 44 (Pity they hit so darn fast though). If there is a message/post/patch info that has that formula in it could you please post the link?

From what I have heard, Boondin is now on a 2-4 hour timer with no placeholder and despawns if not killed right away.
