King Xorbb does indeed exist, albeit rarely and only briefly. He is rumoured to be found at the Altar where his lords Sviir and Syrkl can be found.
His Slime Crystal Staff is possibly used as part of a quest which exists in Najena.
Orb, Sphere, and Circle fitting names for things as round as eyes.

If your are camping him for staff I just want to give a heads up. He has about 9 or so PH and his staff is his RARE drop by that I mean he was killed 24 times before it dropped once. This drop is about a 20 hour camp most of the time and you'll need a tracker. Also mob is level 35 not 25 and has normal hp (class Wiz) Good luck!
I've played for over 10 years now and still make random trips to this zone in hopes of one day killing...hell seeing Xorbb.
This guy is right up there with favorites like Gynok Moltor, Rahotep, and other rares of this ilk. Just thought I'd give Xorbb some love since its fabled time again...still no dice here.

I killed King Xorbb today for the first time. He spawned in front of the Runneyeye zone in. I tracked him the moment he spawned.

The article from RPG expert is gone, but basically it tells you to camp at LOC +940, -65*. My pet killed him before I could even Alt-Tab back to EQ and see what I killed. I think I put about 20+ hours into it over three days.

Just Killed him today Apri 16th 6:30PM, he was way across the other side of the zone from his alter, so if you are camping him dont always stay in one Place, though most of his Place Holders pop at throne.
after 2 years of login in & checking track list, King Xorbb was up. Server was up for only 4 hours, all the named eyes were up along with 2 evil eyes. King Xorbb was pathing on the west side of zone towards the Karana zoneline.
He dropped his Slime Crystal Staff and Ring of Xorbb.

all he is, is a big evil eye just like the others, u can get a picture online.

I have spent way too much time in the gorge. I have killed all the other named (except Qlei) multiple times. I can't seem to get a King Xorbb.

While not recently in respects to your post, I did enter the gorge today to find King Xorbb up. Since reading old threads on this mob will lead you into many theories I will state what I saw:
-server and zone had only been up for 2 days.
-King Xorbb was near the top of the track list (for recent spawning), both named Evil eyes that spawn near the "thrones" were up and deeper in the track list (note, track list looked like it was untouched from server down as the evil eye pets were all clustered near the top of the list)
-King Xorbb was wandering down the middle path right behind a regular evil eye spawn.

Everytime I have found him in the last 6 months or so, I have found him on the first right turn headed to the throne, wandering towards the exit.
I found him wandering the same way today. Killed him, dropped the Ring but no staff (grrrrr).

I head to the maze sometimes when I'm bored. I see King Xorbb every now and again when I go there. Saw him there yesterday and woot! It was the fabled King Xorbb! Will be sending picture of the loots to allakhazam soon. Didn't see it listed with the rest of the fabled.

Alright, I've spent DAYS in this place hunting for this guy, to no avail. I walk in with my 53 wiz and AE the whole place hoping to see him pop, but he never does. Is there somewhere specific I should be looking? A certain mob that needs to be killed, or one that needs to remain spawned for him to pop? All the posts here hint that he could pop around EK zone, RE zone, or the alter.....
Any help?
I'll just keep cooking the gorge till he pops regardless, but if you got another clue then fill me in.

With my level 30 ranger? I have been slaughtering everything else in the zone and all except one NPC are green to me. I have been collecting all the nice gemstones Sviir and Syrkl drop when they die and making a killing and they aren't much trouble at all, even when they manage to fear or mez me, they can't hurt me much, so id Xorbb a lot stronger than they are, or is he just as easy to kill?
If you were me and I were you, would we still be friends?

I was in gorge 2day and i was tracking a rogue evil eye, i found him, round where EK zone is, killed him, all of a sudden i hit track and i see xorbb is up, so i run over, (he was right about where the evil eye died, killed him and got the staff.
Was easy solo at 44 but i duno at other lvls =). GL to all who have seen him, cauz he is rare.

just solo only i say other wise u will kill alot of people just sit there by the throne and kill one after another movin from left to right it is ez for a warrior not a pally or ranger cuz u end up being mezed and healin him but war it is just like a stun and sinse the zone is usualy empty that means that u will not arrgo any1 simple for a lvl 27+ war to solo the hwole camp not ot metio nthe zone

When you kill the goblins in ButcherBlock and I would imagine the ones in Runnyeye, you get faction with King Xorbb. Can you get your faction high enough this way that you can walk through the gorge without fear of being ambushed by an eye?

After killing hundreds of Pickclaw goblins in Runnyeye my faction with King Xorbb "can not possibly get better". As a result the muddites in the Gorge of King Xorbb are now allied to me. The minotaurs and evil eyes, however, are still ready to attack. So... the answer to your question is no, you will still have enemies in the gorge.

I camped him 13hrs straight 2 days ago and he never popped.Today i was killed by my pet who was charmed and on the way back to the EE's i saw king Xorbb heading toward the runnyeye entrance.I killed him with 2 cast of 333 and he was green to me at lvl 43.Dropped the staff and a topaz.

I killed him tonight while farming the EE's for loot. he didn't spawn at the alter with the lords, he spawned at loc 800, -500

This guy must be closer to 35 - 38. While running through the maze I always check the throne and see if he pop. This was the first time I ever saw him. I thought he was a cow but turns out he was a giant eye. Con Dark Blue to my 39 warrior un-twink and with half HP I didn't want to bother him so I ran back to grab some help and a bind in RiverVale since I was bound in GD and just ported to EK and all my other cha were not anywhere close. Bummer.. that suck. So after getting a bind and rushing back with a lvl 19th druid we found the throne empty!!! Ahhh... someone must have killed everything while I was gone. Gonna camp him with a higher cha and see what happen.

kill goblins in highkeep and get better faction, mine is peaked from killing so many goblins, he does exist, he has a temple at approx /loc of -600, 500, not exact but in the area towards middle of zone...im gunna take him out...

I'm tryin to do the Blued 2H Hammer quest, but I have been unsucessful in finding Xorbb and his staff. I have gotten the other 3, and I could solo all of the mobs they dropped off of. I started looking for the staves at 30, got the 3 by 31, but after like 15-20 hours off and on of looking for Xorbb, no luck. If anyone on Torvonnilous has a Slime Crystal Staff, or sees Xorbb on track, I am willing to pay 100pp for the staff (prolly not even worth 20pp). If not, I'll come back here whenver I need some pp, as I can make a killing, around 500pp in about 2 hours.

I've been in the Gorge for a long time, hehe, I've probably made 2kpp here total, selling the gems and jewelry dropped by the eyes for about 170pp each trip to town, plus any PBBs i snag. Anyways...I WANT THIS SPAWN! Just cause he's rare.

King xorbb is weak, i soloed him at 35, same with all the eyes in the gorge!!!!!! PPB! woo hoo.

what lv should you be to take this guy down. i can pretty much solo everything in this zone but this guy. im a lv20 sk, should i group with my lv24 and 25 buddies on this one??? and what form is this guy, a dragon or what???
He is a giant version of an evil eye, and has 500hp or less, as I nuked him twice for 250 pts of damage and killed him. He was light blue to me at 35, and charmed me, even though I had a magic resist of 64 at the time.

beholders each have one spell attached to each eye stalk and that spell can be released every few rounds. the beholder is a being to be feard because it has an initiative that cant be surpassed easily, because it can see in all directions and cast as many spells as it has eye stalks. there is alot more to beholders than this but its just a start. in bg2 the beholder is a watered down version compared to the one on the original game, but they do give you an idea of the challenge. (get that cloak that reflects spells on one or your main tank and he can pound them to mush)

King popped tonight for me about 15 minutes before the patch. Spawned in place of one of the MoBs that usually circle the throne (ie muddites & minos). Been hunting here for about ten levels now... first exp then money ... first time I have seen him up. Dropped the staff, ivory and a little coin.

I (45 SK) was comming out of Runnyeye into the gorge and a Guildie (Ranger) was in the zone. He told me "King Xorbb is up!" I ran around looking for him for a bit (first tinking he would be where the other eyes are) and finally ran into him down the main chasm (Going straight from EK, and the second right from Runnyeye). He was just wondering around like he owned the place (lol). I didn't get the loc of where i saw him but i did pick up the Slime Crystal Staff and some orb that gives +5 HP that goes in PRI/SEC...The staff was neat so i kept it and gave it to a level 4 wiz in the guild, it procs Sicken and is 5/26 (or 28?) He said it proced for him so i assume it will always proc. The staff can also be used to get a DRU only 2hb that procs Root. But you have to turn in some wicked Belt that drops in RM and this staff to get it...not worth the trouble. And...um, ... ya that's it.

The Staff is used in a "broken" quest. There are 4 Staves, which you give to the Visiting Priestess in Najena. It makes someone spawn (somewhere) in Neriak, which despawns immediately. That is why the quest is "believed" to be broken.
In any cases, the quest seem to be aimed at mages.
Tell you wizard friend never to destroy the staff :)

The broken quest is believed to be the Blued 2 handed hammer quest using the visiting priestess in najena and a smith and librarian in Neriak.

The wandering eye wont spawn unless the 2 (3) eyes at the alter are left alone for awhile. He then wanders the gorge for awhile. So to spawn him, convince all 2000 people to NOT attack the alter eyes. BTW, Im well past the "blue hammer" end point for the quest, know what to do with the goblin skin. Havnt quite got to the end, messed up my last attempt.
Don't work that way sorry. I a 40 ranger have camped those to EE's non-stop for up to 6 hours at a time and had the wandering eye or eyes, yes actually had two of them pop one night both up at same time, while keeping the two normal ones dead hehe. leaving them alone might increase the rate at which the wanderer spawns though.

I have camped evil eyes before for the polished bone bracers and have seen many an eye laid to waste but not until today did I run into the king. He spawned in place of one of the roaming muddites/minos that circle the static eye spawn points in the gorge (about 5 minutes after Lord Soptyvr spawned no less!) He had around 1k hp, was blue at 34 and attempted to cast a fear on me before I nuked him down, he also landed some DD spells for about 100 damage each but I can't recall offhand what they were. Dropped the slime crystal staff and a quartz crystal.

Has a guild raid in Gorge tonight, around 9:00pm , 22 ranger screamed she had been killed by King Xorbb. In all my months of passing thru or camping eyes, this was first time ever heard of him pop. Ported into misty, ran thru runnyeye and tracked the King down. Green to 46. No pet, from spells he threw at me think he's a wizzy like the EE in Lower Guk. One calefaction (445pts.) and couple smacks with mstar and he went down. Got the Slime Crystal Staff.

Apparently now when you kill goblins in BB you gain faction with King Xorbb. Not sure if this is supposed to happen or not but it is
This happened with the revamp of Runnyeye. Apparently King Xorbb was Runnyeye's leader, but was deposed by the invading Pickclaw goblins with help of Runnyeye goblins not pleased with his rule. King Xorbb was exiled to Beholder's Maze (now renamed Gorge of King Xorbb) and most of the evil eyes left in Runnyeye were taken prisoner. Runnyeye is now renamed the Liberated Citadel of Runnyeye, and is back under goblin control and rule. Killing Picklaw and some Runnyeye goblins will raise king Xorbb faction now, and killing evil eyes in Beholder's Maze and Runnyeye will increase Picklaw and Runnyeye faction.

I have been playing since Beta 3 years ago. King Xorrb has always been in the Gorge and it has always been named Gorge of King Xorrb. Only pc's have resulted in it being affectionately called Beholder Maze. He was never ruler of RE nor did he ever spawn there.

You take everything as you see it don't ya. It is a LEGEND like they iksar and dragon war. god if this game was totaly black and white like you think might as well just have 2000 white boxes running around whacking stuff with a stick and even that would be funny to watch.

I was was running from the ek zone to runny and he turned from the first right corner when you enter the zone from EK. Thank goodness I had sow and high tailed it the other way. To bad my groupsay of RUN!!!!!!!!!!! was a bit lagged out so the rest of my party didn't get the warning. They told me it killed al but one of the rest of the group in about 10 seconds, that one making through the zone with about 10 hp on him. I've tracked it 5 times since when I enter the zone, but I still refuse to engage it till it turns green on track.(last time I tracked it was 2 lvls ago at 32). Figuring him, like other eyes, as a serious undercon.

We're talking about a rare spawn mob that not only has an entire zone named for him, but also is his own faction now. I'll bet that he'll start appearing a little more often now, what with the changes in Runnyeye...and I also bet that he'll be a bit more powerful than level 25.
I got him 23 April 2002 and he was green to me at 44, probably still level 25.

I have seen him. I was camping eys for PBB's and he just came walking down the hill into the shrine. Easy kill. Got a slime crystal staff. HE DOES EXIST

Ok, I've seen nearly every rare mob in the game. I've seen quillmane, that goblin in the cauldron, I've even seen that retarded gnome necro Pyzjin in qeynos hills (after about 14hrs straight). I have been in the maze killing evil eyes and camping the polished bone bracers about 200 total hours. I've seen lord soptvyr SEVERAL times but i've never seen Xorbb. NEVER in all the COUNTLESS hours i've been here did i see him. I think his spawn is broken. If you see him any time soon post on here please. thanks.
