Have all 4 crystals, but that's all he is saying too meh. What am I doing wrong?

I can't find him anywhere near or around the caves. Does he despawn?

NOTE: When you get to the Return to Laiyken part of the Beyond the Barrier task, make sure you have your Prismatic Crystal Charm on you or you won't get the update. As Larth noted, he'll just say, "I am sorry but I am currently seeking out someone. I have no time to make idle conversation."
