Anderak 4 is called The Darkroot Caves.
Kill 5 Darkroot Tender
Kill Mold Master Gangli
Loot Gangli's Poisoned Roots
There are three other confused steps as well...
One says kill 20 Darkroot Warriors... but the status counter shows only 18
One says Kill 5 Darkroot Shaman... but the status counter shows 3
One says kill 5 Darkroot Vineherds... but the status counter says 3
Right now I assume the last step is to take the root back to Anderak.
The Herders are surrounded by Darkroot Vineshards... tnhey will mezz and root. A Mezzer is key cuz they hit me 1.2K (L75, full mitigation Paladin).
Gangli and is surrounded by Darkroot Orchids. He and the Orchids are permarooted.
The Orchids hit me 1.2K and Gangli git me 2.6K.

Anderak 4 is the last in the series and you are referred to Vahna for that series.
Anyway -- I can confirm that (as from my previous post) that the status counter is what matters for the number of kills, not the wording. (So, it is 3 not 5 and 18 not 20...).
Also, I can confirm that the last step is uturning in the root.
The reward is a range item called Spore of the Freemind Sporali --> http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=61665

There is a 3rd quest involved not listed here. Involves killing 4 Darkroot Carrion Gatherers, 4 Darkroot Gardeners and then Arakeen, Eater of the dead. Will post name of quest later (not at home pc atm). Haven't finished so can't tell you if there is a loot drop.
Its also requires looting 4 Darkroot Plaguespores and last step is turning them in.
