To me, the first pop is at -3313, -1051. Its the very front spawn point as mentioned in previous post.
3 mins after it has been killed, another pops at -3072, -1552.
So, I believe any of the stonefin basilisks in the front half of canyon can be his PH, except the elder ones.

Just to confirm, the location is correct as posted -3310, -940
Kill the Stonefin Baslisks which spawn around the two Eldar Baslisks, eventually he will spawn, took over 3 hours to make him spawn - killing constantly around the immiediate area.

Confirm, just kill the 3 basilisks directly right upon entering from Goru'kar. Anything seems to be his PH so keep clearing until repop rinse and repeat. Goes down easy no harder than any of the other basilisks
Obsidian summons -has exactly 50k hps - hits for a max of 970 on silk wearer classes - and is extremely resistant to fire spells (ice and magic are fine on him).
He does NOT spawn on his location at on the map. I camped him for two days in his supposed spot, and GRANITE, a different named basilisk, was the only one that spawned in that spot.
When you enter Basilisk Canyon, heading east, the very first stonefin basilisks you see on your left hand side are Obsidian's PHs.
You'll see a roamer (which roams only a few steps), then one static spawn, then another roamer just past him. Those are the PHs for Obsidian. Elder Basilisks are not PHs for Obsidian, they are PHs for Granite. Obsidian spawns off the smaller stonefin and seer basilisks.
Approximate Loc of a confirmed spawn is -3310, -940. A roaming stonefin should be at that spot or near there.

is the PH one of the elder basilisk or the named can spawn from any basilisk. Can he spawn from one of the basilisk that are statics or can he only spawn from the ones roaming?
Been camping him this morning for the charm drop, hunting about 3 hours, roughly, popped twice both times the first basilisk on the left going up the canyon toward where the map indicates he roams. Both times dropped the charm bit, and the mantle.

I camped this mob for maybe 20-30 hours pulling the mobs right by the zone in. Last night I had a bit more firepower in the group and started pulling towards the north from the area where it curves (about where my map says Obsidian). What do you know, but I got 2 spawns in about 20 minutes. Therefore, I suspect that he may not be a random pop off any mob, I would focus on the mobs in the middle of the basilisk area, particularly ones that sit right to the north of the curve.....
Possible I had horrible RNG until last night, but ...

Can someone give me a precise location? There are many conflicting locations posted here. Is he possibly a random spawn from any of the elders? Any information would be helpful!
I've killed him 3 times now, and all 3 times he was in defferent spots. If you want him to spawn, just kill Basilisk's in the SE corner of the zone until he spawns. Obsidian himself is an easy kill, not much tougher then the unnamed ones.
We took this guy, was a wipe i ran to ZL on 9% health and didnt summon me once, perhaps a bug?

as of dec 5 patch, he was summoning, killed him a few times in the past and did not summon, tonight he summoned me. and fast.
Yes a druid can solo him (I am lvl 75), but it is not as easy as some make it seem by just saying he does not summon, so he is a cake walk. The mobs are in a very small cavern area (hallway made by rocks) and if you exit it you risk adds from roaming drakes and highdesert basiliks. I was killing these basiliks for their scales (elder, rockseer, stonefin) for the artisan charm quest. Then this named popped. He resists and breaks root like crazy, so try to keep him rooted at the sides of the cavern to give yourself room to stand at other side to heal and cast. After casting 2 dots I would re-root if it has not broken root already. I found my self using a lot of mana to root and then heal myself since he would be on me when I would get root to land.
Make sure you kill the others with enough time to allow you time to kill named and not get re-pops. An add in those tight quarters sucks, if one will not stay put. The 3 normal ones stay rooted pretty long time. The lock of Veldyn's hair is for the Charm of Lore quest (a charm with great stats and modifiers) if you are not doing the quest then /gu or /OOC it for some one who might be

I can confirm this. He spawned as the 2nd mob entering the valley. Summons, and quads up to 900. Harder than slave driver azza. had a mage pet tank it for me while i healed the pet.

This mob is anywhere from level 67-69. He conned dark blue to a 70 beastlord. This mob hit up to 910 max on a 1800ac beastlord and didn't have any problems. He did not summon but he did flurry a few times during the coarse of the fight.
I'm level 74 Beastlord with 2100 AC and 13k HP and the max he hit me for 961. I had to back off though. Don't know if he was getting lucky or what, but he started kicking me into the sand. lol.
