That was a failed ring war. If the people who spawn the Ring 10 war fail, all npc's in Thurg 'die'.
Also the mission giver is right next to the Dain room. Walk out of Dain's bedroom and look to your left. There is a little hallway that can be hard to see. Mission giver is right in there.

We are happily chugging away on Dain's monster missions today and all the sudden Dain`s Historian Duggans dissappears and every other dwarf in the vacinity in Icewell Keep drops down and lays there full health laying down and not moving either slaughtered or skewered. Rumor is a failed warrior ring war. Can someone provide info verifying what causes this and how long the respawn is or how to reset it? Thanks.

Just wondering if your going to update, Dain 2 and Dain 3 with the drops and the proper quest listing, you have platinum seal as first reward, but its reward for all 3 dain missions, etc... ???? and the stats are gimp for part 1 and 2, but then have a huge jump for 3 im told

Say you are level 70 and have Diamond Studded Coldain Historical Seal (Recommended Level 65).
What if you shroud to a level 55 before doing the missions and get the seals? Can you then get Platinum Crested Coldain Historical Seal (Recommended Level 55)?

Can only have 1 aug
*** Again this is a basic strategy for all 3 missions, if it helps you then great, if not I'm sorry***
Dain 1
This is probally the fastest one hands down. Have one healer dedicated to the Dain and one healer on the Warrior and run to each camp and have the Dain engage the Cheif while the rest of the group kills the scouts.
Make sure the Dain always remains in CH range.
Final fight make sure the Dain has a HoT and pins himself into corner, gets agro(getting agro is key as this guy hits for a ton) then calls the attack. Both Healers shoud heal the Dain on this one. Easy win and very fast.
Dain 2
Again this is an easy one but takes forever =/ The strategy on this one is very, very, very long pulls. Don't cheat yourselves on this one. The longer the pull the safer you are, but yes its boring. Send one person out to pull. Usually you get 3-4 Giants per wave. If you followed my advise you have a long run back to your group that also meens the giants have a long run to get help =) Always insure that you assist as the Giants run at 70% health sometimes so everyone who can root should be casting it frequently so they don't go far. Always make sure to drag everything back to camp if you had a runner that you had to chase and kill. The puller wants to clear up to where the "Plate Cycle" starts for named. All the green con mobs die fast(and don't count towards mission). Final mob is "tethered" from what I was told so fight outside the hut. Easy no fail mission if you have long pulls.
Dain 3
If your the Dain your going to be bored but you are actually a General on this one =) Set up a hot key for this one(if your the Dain) it helps.
Hail the first guy on task menu like it says and follow propts so that you can see what the key phares are. Basically you have two hot keys to tell the dwarves to attack and another two that says fall back. (I think mine was "unit a forward" /pause 20 "Unit b Forward" /pause 20 "Units c forward" then hot key 2 had "unit d forward" and finally the reverse for the other two hot keys to to have them retreat/stand down) The /pause 20 is needed so that each unit gets the order from the general relaying the orders from you.
Next every time you see the emote that the giants are on the move have a puller run out and pull the Gaints to your camp. This is when they become targettable. Once the giants are in the camp the group needs to tell the person playing the Dain to "send in the dwarves". Thats when the person playing the Dain hits his hot key to send in the troops =). The players should attack the warlords/General while the npc's attack the trash. Once all the giants are dead the group should say all clear so the Dain can give the retreat/fall back to the general and then wait for the next emote.
If it wasn't for having to wait for the emote this MM would go ALOT faster.
Other pieces of information...
* Always max your run aa's reguardless of class. * All mellee's should max there defensive aa's. I haven't played the healer classes yet as I'm almost always the Dain but would assume Mana Preservation would be a high priority.
* The Dain should always have a dedicated healer on missions 1 & 2. Not needed in #3 as he is never near the action, he just commands the troops.
* If the Dain dies you lose, let the other members be the sacrificial lamb. Don't let someone who wants to "always" be in the action be the Dain. Choose someone who can control them selves and be team members to be the Dain.

Anyone have more info on if there are indeed 3 augs (one from each mission) and that the 3 augs are combinable? I heard that rumor and with a 4k distiller needed to remove the aug from mission #1 I don't want to insert it until I know if it can be merged with the other 2. Thanks =)

Wanelorm gives stats for the aug that is the final reward for handing all 3 seals at level 61-70.
You don't have to worry about combining. Or about having to remove an intermediate aug in order to upgrade it. It happens automatically. Just hand in the seals. For instance, I equipped my Diamond Studded Coldain Historical Seal after handing in 2 seals. It had stats:

I belive you need the seal from all 3 missions. Turn them in as you get then in to the coldian that gives the task and you get the final progression on it. I can't remember the stats but I do remember it's worth doing. There is also an agu in the 2nd & 3rd missions. This brings the count to 3.

What I want to know is if the seals are like the LDON Adventure Stone, in that if you destroy your seal, but then loot it again in another Dain mission, will you get it at the full stats?

For the monster mission Dain Frostreaver the First:
The 3 Warlords you need to kill are located at the giant fort, just south of the mountain in the middle of the zone (near a hut), and western section near the dragon port in location.
The giant fort one is simple: kill the 2 guards and the warlord, the second one to the south is difficult but the best way to do it is have someone other then Dain start kiting them. The 2 red colored mobs will stop to cast snare thats when you pick them off. For the 3rd group again kite but none of them can snare as they are all warrior mobs. Kite them and pick them off one at a time, leaving named for last.
The boss spawns at the Thurg enterance and is somewhat difficult. Start CHing and charge, put yourself in his corner or the opposite one to prevent the knockback from getting you out of CH range.

This guy gives out 3 quest
First is Kill 3 sets of giants then 8 wolves then a named.
Second is killing 10 Master scouts. Then finding their head quaters. then killing the named and getting out before you get trampled by the army.
third is like the coldain ring quest. 4 waves of giants that you pull. 4 sets of coldain military to command. each wave is harder than the next.
Each task drops a seal. you turn in the seal to Dain's Historian Duggans after the mission to get an aug. Stats do not show on the aug.
It is roomered that you need all 3 mission augs to get max stats. This doesn't seem to be the case from what I can tell. I have turned in 2 and my aug is at 2 to all stats/resist and a few other things. max is i think 14ac 7 to all stats/resist 70hp/mana/end and +15 to avoidance and 5 to regen. bah i should look it up but yall can do that.. the aug is on lucy with max stats.
What i have seen drop on the first missions is a shield. don't rember stats. a face item on the second. and i have yet to complete the third. I hear tell of a rare aug drop from 2 and 3. but i can't confirm this. maybe tonight will have better luck in getting missions complete and getting aug upgraded more.
if infact it maxed doing 1 2 and 3 mission then it is no ware close right now. I beleive that if you did 1 7 times and got the aug then you could have it maxed out.
time to complete missions varries on people you play with.
Mission 1 = about 30min plus
Mission 2 = about 1 hour +
Mission 3 = about 1 hour +
med times all play a factor.
Also Dain can not die. Dain should tank all names and Dain and wars and zerkers should max out deffence AAs. I hope this helps some.

how do i get the mission, i hail Dain's Historian Duggan and he just spouts some weird stuff, i dont have bad faction with them either (not the best either though)
no you do not have to have ally faction to get this. i have warmly and i got it just fine.
