Post MessageHow many combines does it take to evolve the master trophy?
To evolve the master trophy, you must do non-trivial combines (obviously over 300 since you needed 300 to get the master trophy). Also, as previously stated, contrary to popular belief it does NOT have to be within 100 skill points of your raw skill. It can be anything non-trivial, which is anything higher than your current skill. Again, since I am talking about the master trophy, it is anything with a trivial over 300. From my experience, it seems to take around 8-9 combines to get 1% evolution, meaning it would take around 800-900 combines to fully evolve it.
However, I recently ran across a post from a developer stating that the number of combines required varies with the difficulty of acquiring the components involved in the recipe. He stated that any recipe that is trivial over 300 and involved components that are completely store bought will require the maximum of 1000 combines to evolve the trophy. The minimum number of combines to evolve it is 400, which would require a recipe with the toughest to acquire components (he used tailoring as an example). In other words, the harder it is to get the components for the recipe, the faster your trophy evolves.
So the verified fact on the number of combines needed to fully evolve your master trophy is 400-1000, depending on the difficulty of obtaining the recipe's components. That means no matter what, it takes between a minimum of 4 and maximum of 10 combines to evolve the master trophy by 1 percent. Anyone posting less or more than these values is incorrect.

Combines just have to be higher triv than current skill...
Contrary to popular belief you do NOT have to be within 100 of the trivial level. Im currently evolving my 6-7 with 462 trivials and a 300 raw skill. Have fun!

Maxing Trophy to lvl 7/7
You can max your trophy only once you reach a RAW skill of 300. At this point any combine over 300 will advance your trophy from lvl 6 to 7. I found in baking it took about 12 combines (success or fail) to raise the trophy one percentage point. Hope this helps. I can verify this with Baking, Poison Making, Jewelry Craft, and Brewing (so far). I did not count the combines like I did with baking to see how many on average moved the trophy a percentage point.

Not sure exactly what you want, so will give a brief explanation of everything.
Once you complete the level appropriate test (varies by your current skill level when you request the task), you get a beinner's trophy, and if it's not the beginner level test, you'll also recieve a Certificate of the appropriate test level. Equip the trophy, and combine only the Certicate in any appropriate to that tradeskill container and combine. This will automatically evolve your trophy to said level of the certificate.
In order to evolve the trophy beyond the certificate level (which certificates only go to Master, and max one level above that), you need to do non-trivial (above your skill level), combines in the tradeskil appropriate containers, while having the trophy equipped. Each successful, non-trivial combine will evolve the trophy. Generally, by Master level, you will need to be doing 345+ if I remember correctly trivial combines in order to do the minimum number of successful combines to level the trophy it's max.

What quest
I was out of the game for 2 years and didnt know about the Tradeskill quest (I am 300 skill level ) till i had done many combines and my GM hammer didnt do anything just stayed at 5%. Its the hammer you get from making the artisan seal. So after mentioning how long it was taking to evolve ( witch it never will ) someone mentioned the NPC out front of Freeport. I went there got the quest, was the Masters quest, and turned in my Hammer thinking it would convert to the trophy that evolves ( HAHA jokes on me ) the judge kept my hammer ( ack what do i use now ( Geerlok )). Well I finished the quest got the letter and the beginer trophy. As directed I went to a forge with my trophy in my hand and put the letter in the forge and hit combine. POOF trophy now at 12% or 6/7 on the evolve scale will have to do many more combines it seems to max this out. Hope this helps you folks who have been out of the game and missed the changes. Getting task
Tried to get the task from her for my warrior today and since I don't have the PoF expansion I cannot do any task, guess if I'm to get my skills up the easy way I have to get the expansion.
Repeat the quest?
So I completed the expert tailoring test some time ago and just hit 300 in tailoring, but my skill ups went faster than the trophy evolution. I would rather repeat the quest to get the Master trophy than do the 200 combines that are going to be needed to evolve the trophy to master. When I tried to get the quest again, she says she's already given it to me once and she won't give it again. If I destroy the expert trophy will she give me the master test? Anyone know?

I was brave and decided to "accidentally" destroy my trophy. She will indeed assign you the next higher level task when you do this.

The name of the new bag is different from the old. Expert versus journeyman. When I try to make the new bag permanent I do get a message about LORE, but there are two different names on the carry alls. :(

If you have already completed it and you want to grab the details, pull up the Quest Journal Window (Alt Q), click on the last (3rd) tab at the top labeled Quest History and click on the quest/task from that list.

For Half-elf parts there are 2 really good locations.
1.Greater Faydark go to the bandit camp, if memory serves me correctly its slightly to the SE of Kelethin. (really good spot, not only can you get half-elf parts here but the more elusive wood elf parts).
2.Lesser Feydark there are actually 2 places here, the first is the bandit camp mid zone to the west of the G-Fay zoneline. The second is the Nybright camp of 4 sisters (less often here but does drop).

Will get the 12% of an AA I need to get past 200, and will tell you what happens when this trophy evolves and how many combines are needed to!

Ok, put 3 points in New tanaan...
My trophy evolved in very few combines, less than 40 i would say, i was 202 brewer when it did.
I am now 239 brewer, and my trophy is 70-75% into next one.

wont combine
I have the beginners trophy and the Mater Jeweler Certificate. I followed the instructions and put the Trophy in my secondary slot then put the Certificate into a jewelry kit and hit combine. NOTHING... So of course, I hit combine like 40 more times. Then I bought another JC kit. Then I used a collapsable... NOTHING.

She also gives out the quest for Brewing but there is one piece i am stuck on. The Giant Wasp Stinger used to make a Faydwer Stinger. I have camped all zones with wasps/yellowjackets/hornets and no drop, anyone else having the same problem?

Completed the Flecthing Trade Skill quest, easy to do as there are now Flecthing merchants about 30 seconds run away.
A lot of basic stuff, nothing over about 68 triv. got a plus n% trophy for my trobles.

The expert level requires much rarer components some of which like the Drake Wing Bones sell for over 25k pp each in the bazaar on The Tribunal and only Drops From Drakes in DoN :(

Either way the old trophy item is one of them. Some say there are ways to jump that combine if you already have a trophy item, but havent seen that.
After you do your combines you have to turn them in with another npc thats next to this one.

will have to see if i can get the quest again for the exact combines.
Either way the old trophy item is one of them. Some say there are ways to jump that combine if you already have a trophy item, but havent seen that.
After you do your combines you have to turn them in with another npc thats next to this one.

Jewelcrafting Trophy Quest
okay at skill 300 you get the quest for Master.
the trophy is an evolving item going from level 1 to 7. The Master level being level 6.
For Jewelcrafting it entailed doing 19 combines, then turning them in. For which you would receive a scorecard afterwards.
This scorecard can be turned in with this NPC then. for the trophy as well as a ticket to have the trophy evolve to the level of the quest you did.
!!!! Warning, when turning the scorecard in make sure that you have 2 inventory bag slots free. I had to redo this quest a second time, because i didn't do this the first time. And it costed me the scorecard. !!!!

Not all tradeskills
She gives out quests for all but one tradeskill. Fishing. That's the only one there isn't there one for, though I'm not sure there was a previous grandmaster trophy for fishing, so that could be why there isn't anything for it now.
All tradeskill tests
This NPC hands out Tests of every difficulty for every tradeskill.
With skill levels of 200-248 (my range of skill, not the quest's range), I received the Journeyman level quest for all 7 of the main tradeskills, and research.
