Dropped Pyrilen Essence for us tonite in addition to Gemstone of Fiery Might.
out of our 7 hour stay she spawned 7 out of 9 times....dropped greater 3 times glowing 2 times aug 2 times and trident 3 times.and some junk lewts..ez mob
This mob does not always have the charm. From what I can tell it only casts this spell 1/2 the time I engage it.

You can absolutely be charmed when dotted. You must be thinking of MEZ, in that case you would dot yourself
I have found to pull her is with enchanter using recant magic, then have enchanter run, doppleganger if needed, re rune herself. As ench comes in, sham malos, tank grabs researcher, usually goes well.

Also drops Greater Muramite rune. Dropped for us today off her.
Something about one of the rooms has changed. We encountered her in the East room, and there was an additional mob in the room, a Pyrilen guard. She would not pull clean, the other mob always added.
I've done the named in this area many times, and there were never other mobs in the East/West rooms, other than the Dragorn Battlemaster, who doesn't aggro. Now there is an additional mob, at least in the East room.

the mob you are talking about is the PH for the dragorn battlemaster. the DB is not social with the pyrilens so thats why you would sometimes have clean pulls and other times not.
You guys sure mez works on named? Or are you just guessing? I am pretty sure you can't mez the named here but then again i haven't tried many ethier heh. Normaly i just play pslam and we resist the spells just fine.
If you dont have a chanter or bard with a mez that will work on a mob of this level yet, you can kill this mob by having a bard use amplification and Psalm of Veeshan. We've done this several times now, and with maxed out resists the tank has resisted the charm every single time.

Anyone else notice a drastic drop in the spawnrate of this mob recently? Researcher seems to be spawning MUCH less frequently (and when she does spawn, she has the damn trident) while Summoner is spawning a lot more.
Would love some info on where Researcher spawns.

Run all the way up into fire wing - set up camp in the big room before the Queen's Chamber, he's in the side room on the left side as you enter, same room as the dragorn battlemaster.

instead of chain mezzing.. have everyone leav their first buff slot open and then cast nulify magic or something of the sort.....with empty buff slot charm will go there and nullifymagic strips it back off

"Our efforts were successful in reaching the lovers of chaos in that far away realm.
They call themselves the Priests of Dichord funnily enough.
We were able to sense thier intentions and plant the seeds of a way to find a patch through magic to this realm.
There is always danger when imparting knowledge that is so sacred to our kind, but it was required for us to do this... quietly.
The success of this has me looking for others we could entice to bring their wrath upon this weak master of ours.

The best strat on this one is to chain-mez with a bard. That way there is no chance for the mob to charm anyone. The bard keeps chain-mezzing the whole fight. Same strat with a chanter can be used. It works like a charm! Good luck and have fun =).
Does anyone know how to effectively kill one of these mobs that happens to charm? Its obvious some pop with charm some dont. Now how can you kill them with one group. Resists are over 450 and still get charmed everytime.

Tried to charm this mob 18 Nov 2004, wouldnt charm, dont know if there are level variations, but the mob had a pet and charm. wiped the chanter (
also drop 70 hp augment type 7,8
