What about a shaman with roughly 8k hps/9k mana unbuffed? Think im gonna try it tonight for kicks.

Soloed on 5/14, dropped duskfall chronicles. I would not call it easy by any means. If you are trying it, make sure to keep root up because he takes off fast at 20% health. Max hit i saw was 813. On a side note myself and a 70 mage got Souldrainer to down to 6%, we would have killed him had she put her pet on /hold, enrage ate him. ><

Named also drops - http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/item.html?item=31412 - Tome of Forceful Projections. I'm guessing it's one of the items that are randomly dropped off any random mob in the zone.

I solo him all the time (70 Ench)
he is both rootable and mezzable and does NOT see invis. I usually just charm the only wanderer thru his area (between him and murk) then use him to kill named. Go farm a few other named and come back in 20 min to rinse and repeat.

He mitigates slow, and can be rooted.

Does he not summon then? Or are you just rooting him to prevent him from fleeing?

Was just wondering if this mob could be mezzed, charmed, rooted, and slowed. This information would make fighting this mob alot easier. Thinking about trying to solo him so any help would be great. Thanks

my exp up to now ..
killed the spawn 38 times:
8 Nameds did spawn and dropped 7 Helmets and 1 Book.
when I finaly loot that damn stone I will have spent more time on this as on the epic 1.5.
update. killed spawnpop 48 times .. 8 helmets now.
OK: Killed the spawn the 66th time .. HE DROPED IT !
Alltogether .. 11 helmets, 1 Book, 1 STONE
.. never want to see him again

Haven't camped him seriously but saw him on track from Bowhound camp.
He dropped Duskfall Chronicles.
Waited for next spawn, and up he popped again.

Just killed him lastnight and he dropped a Muramite Rune.
Some people are like Slinkies ... not really good for anything, but you can't help smiling when you see one tumble down the stairs.
Just to add to this..
Yeah I killed him 19 times and not a single rune. Kyv Bowhound is close in name and does drop runes so its possible your thinking of him. Or its possible that maybe hes been changed, but I doubt it.
I think this guy should drop runes though.. I sure can't see any reason why he shouldn't

Kyv Bowguard does not drop runes. I've killed him literally dozens of times. Friends of mine have dropped this mob even more than I, and none of us have ever received a rune from Bowguard. You are prabably thinking of Kyv Bowhound which spawns on the hillside leading away from the zone line to Bloodfields and does in fact drop runes about half of the time.
Killed him 18 times now..

Also the 1 roamer Kyv that roams threw camp spawns in the camp. So if you kill it. it will pop on you in 20mins..

Kyv Bowguard spawns at p650 n1285 n40 every 20 minutes. He has a PH. Best place to camp him is in the hallway east of spawn point. In the eastern hallway a Named roamer also spawns at p650 n1582 n40. His name is randomly generated it seems. That makes this a nice 2 named camp with only 1 wandering basic mob to mess with.

This is right by Zun's room, when you look at the in game map, just fyi. The spawn loc given is correct. 8)
Anyone Know where these guys spawns exactly? Judging by the pic it looks like he is in one of the tunnels
