Killed today with 85 Monk 25.8khp/3100ac 1793aa with t5 Merc, and a 69 Ranger with t1 merc...
Took him down in about 4-5 minutes today with a group of 6, including lvl 82 necro, lvl 82 cleric, lvl 82 mage, lvl 81 ranger, and 2 tier 3 mercs for a group of 6. Necro used army of the dead spell, and ranger fired arrows (including trueshot) and blasted with spells. Ranger never got summoned. Feign death spell landed 4-5 times during the fight...nothing but a minor annoyance, and easily fixed by hitting "sit" (but need to re-hit autofire, melee, etc). Enraged (of course) towards the end, but not a problem. Not really a challenging fight, no good loot (except for enchanter epic), but satisfying nevertheless.

Oh, really? I've helped several enchanters with this mob in the past with maximum magic resists (650) and I was never able to resist his feign-death spell. Is there something special you're doing?
Didn't see it on here... appears to be a 2 hour respawn. Guild killed him for another enchanter, I went back a little over 2 hours later and he was up again.

If you bring more than 10 people to do this, you'll be seriously SERIOUSLY bored.
I'm sorry to be off topic and kinda noobish, but I was recently re-rolling and fought Krenshin, same Model. They look nearly identical.

One warrior reported Cipheron hits for 1200 with defense, so a little over 2k without defense. The AE appears to be Aftershock and (as indicated in the Lucy link) it seems to come along every 30 seconds. (Thank you Suometar for finding the ae infomation in Lucy.)

Based on the effect I got, it does seem to be Aftershock (linked above).
He also uses another effect of some sort, without casting a spell, that results in a short knockback effect. (It might be Aftershock too, but I didn't see anything about push back or push up in the spell info.)

Totally off topic but i happen to be on the same server as this egotistical piece of crap and he has ot be the most hated piece of dog $%^& on any server. Kratos couldnt be happier to get rid of Kyroskrane and his incessant whining when people with more DKP would get an item he wanted. Just an all around whineass that thinks he is the cream of the server. I have never posted anythign bad about anyone in 6 years of EQ but this guy takes the cake.

So I'd guess about 35ish people of a post-EP guild needed for Cipheron. About 3-4 groups for a high-end guild.

The smallest force we killed him with was 12 or 13 pps, we are a COA geared guild. Just have a few tanks to work the FD agro and your golden. We usually take 3 - 4 groups for the event, I like overkill!

The words "raid encounter" dont mean anything to you?
I am at this point in my epic. If we take Cipheron down and I loot the page a chest will spawn. Question is, if I destroy that page and kill him again, can I spawn another chest?
Hmm, I wonder the same thing. I don't think anyone has tried doing this, becuase it would waste the guild's time. And if they did, and it worked, it would be nerfed.
UPDATE. Convinced my guild to give it a try and deleted the tattered incantation that I previously looted off Cipheron. Zoned into Wos and took him out. Looted another Tattered incantation and NO CHEST spawned. There is an invisible flag for completing epic fights! This is probably true for all epic fights involving chest loot.
Dropped 2 greater runes and a really crappy sword for us.

You must be thinking of Velitorkin - this mob is Enchanter epic only and does not drop spell runes.
This mob casts a FD spell and a 1500Hit Point nuke.

i'm a bit confused....do the chests pop only if there's an Enchanter there to loot their epic drop, or are they just a random drop?
I believe only if the chanter is there, I think it's SoE's way of getting other people rewards along the way.

it's so that a chanter who needs to do epic can go ... "there are CHESTS if you help me" ...
basically yes ... if chanter not at point in quest ... no epic drop .. just item drops that woulda been in chest. (same as with all other epic fights)

Discordling Warfiend is not for warrior epic drop. He can drop two seperate items and possibly a rune. Most if not all of the epic mobs that can spawn chests require a character at the right point to hail them. Captain Varn for my 1.0 sk work around was that way. Even though I was at correct point in the progression he did not spawn a chest. He did however drop epic part.
my mistake... i meant the Champ. i was shrunk and hard to see.

Killed him a few nights ago with 30 something people. Spawn timer seems to be around 20 mins. The chest seems to be a random spawn after his death as well. The 2 out of the 3 times we killed him the chest poped. Droped off the first chest, was a very pleasent surprise. Second time a leather class useable helm and third was nothing.
Heh, he's permakilled atm on servers, way out of balance.

Cannot be looted by an Enchanter til said Enchanter has the necessary flag (is far enough into the epic) for the piece he drops.

The discussion at the runes.net mentions this guy. Several guilds have dropped him and when they let an enchanter loot the tattered page, a loot chest spawned. When someone else looted it, the body disappeared and no loot.

Once killed it is possible that there will be a chest beneath him. Whether or not the chest is on a timer is unknown, but what can be gathered from the chest would require a long "Time" otherwise.

Last night we killed him and his 2 twin buddies in the zone. The only thing on Cipheron's corpse was this: http://lucy.allakhazam.com/item.html?id=57919
We guess its for one of the 2.0 epics (since this is a tough mob for the 1.5 versions) and gave it to an enchanter on a guess based on the name. He respawned about 30 mins after we had killed him. Considering the respawn, the fact that he's rooted in place, and that the only thing on his corpse was that page. I'm guessing its an epic mob.

This encounter is a pain. Several tricks in his box and an AE u cannot hide if u got agro.
We tried to do him 2 times. Hard to land Turgur`s on him, a little harder on Balance of the Nihil. U can nuke him down to 97% but if he reaches 96% he will start to summon ... nasty trick. Further he has a knock back, so get DMF/FOE. His 1500DD/FD AE is partically resistable but only the DD .. FD AE never got resisted of some of us.
We took him down to 82% with 28 ppl then we nearly wiped (cleric camped). Rampages very often (i count 5 ramps in 6 sec on worst case). His HP isnt that huge but i dunno if he will get a nother trick out of his box maybe at 60% or less ;)

All/most(very rare occasion where mobs summon at 100% on aggro but I think one of the named in the Ikkinz trials does or something) mobs that summon won't do it till they're dropped below 97%.

My guild attempted him last night for kicks to see how badass he was. Since he's perma rooted, We all stood out of melee and debuffed him and let him FD blur himself.
Malos stuck right off. Took several tries to land Malosinia (needed a bard to keep HoS playing).
We had a chanter tash him.
Then once we had Sinia, Tash and HoS on him and he was blurred, I got my clicky slow stick and took several tries (at least 10) before Turgur's Insects would land. NEver got Balance of the Nihilto stick. Yes, he IS hard to slow, but doable. I'd advise pluggin away at him til he slows.

tidy did yall take out this mob or did you wipe? and if you took him out then what did he drop?

We did wipe. Had about 12 people I think, and only 1 cleric heh. We got him down to im thinking around 80% or so, maybe less, before the tank and deaths ensued. The cleric forgot to stand up after FD hit...
Managed to get hit with his fd, and stayed fd til I lost aggro, invis'd, hit sneak (vah shir innate sneak rocks), and ran behind him and drug corpses.

Max Melee: Approx 2200
Melee Range: Pretty small, about the size of his target ring.
Rampage: Yes, single target
Slowable: Not a chance in hell, resistant bastard
Proc: Procs Feign Death with a 1500dd component
AE: AE's FD on everyone that has agro on him, regardless of range. Has no actual range to it.
AE Timer: Roughly 10 seconds.
HPs: Not sure, we were on him several minutes and only got him down to 90%

If I am correct on this mob, he is the guild mob that guards the main castle entry into the courtyard. He is perma rooted and has massive dps, in the 2k range for each hit. He also procs a FD proc with a range of about 150' - 200'. We backed off him and he left us alone. He did not summon.
