I ran into him at the lava islands as well. Found out that he does summon, but he went down pretty easy. Dropped a Spectral Parchment as well as the mace.

Spawned him last night (1/24/06) on the lava islands - he's easier than a WOS mob. Pulling is a snap in fire that you can single pull from a cluster of mobs with an arrow but if you get close multiple mobs agro.
Brought a pally along for the mace. Also dropped a Glyphed Rune which I have not seen on any other loot table for the other swarm mob named. Please update loot table. :)

does anyone know where he spawns and how i spawn him?

this guy spawned for me at the Jopal area on the small island...seems all the mobs there can be single pulled without any aggro except if u get too close. The spider came with a smaller spider but chanter AE pac the whole thing and pulling was cake..Trio'd with Me(66 Sk), Bro(65 chanter), and a 67 mage....i didnt do any but made sure aggro was off chanter and mage while mage pet and chanter charm pet was killing spider..he is random spawn i believe and just have to catch him when he's up
