I also couldn't pull the servants at the doorway without aggroing him.
While camping for my air drop for my gate necklas named was up so 70 paladin / 71 BST - 66 Warrior wolfie *box* / 2x merc clerics. I waited till 7p *night time* to not agro the named, pulled each set of add's surrounding it, then pulled it into the hallway leading out to keep any extra roamers away. Dropped sword / rune / T ore. Fight lasted maybe 4 mins. The mem blurr gave my paladin a bit of trouble keeping agro even with enraging blow aug on my sword *blade of forgotten faith* & furious bash VII on my shield *aegis of midnight*, so I had to cast fast spell stun & aa stun a lot. I didnt pay attention to the damage paladin was taking since her ac is over 3k. Both characters have over 475 resist, so I resisted its AE, but noticed cler'c getting hit with it. Fun fight. GL peeps..
Also drops Spectral Parchments. Had most success with him by pulling him to the entrance and killing him there. Also reslow him often, and use max agro throughout due tot he mem blur.
I was on a BL epic 2.0 mob raid hit, and had to go past this mob. The puller cleared the room, and then we all ran past the mob without him aggro'ing. I infact ran right through him. So if he was broken when WolfeeLunarhowl posted on him three years ago, he is still broken, or maybe it was night time, I didn't check.

Been to PoA lots past week or so, and it seems that this guy is bugged. Day or night, he will con KoS, but you can run right past him and no agro. Something that needs to be looked at?
This guy sleeps at night, so if it's nighttime in game, then he's non-agro and you can run right by him. If it's daytime though, he's definitely KOS. So be on your toes and check the time.
