Once these mobs proc this spell it also warps them directly to you, kinda like a reverse summon. At least thats what was happening to me when i was battling them, once i snared they began to walk towards me then bam i was hit with chains and they were directly on top of me
Just wanted to add that yes they proc this effect more than once per fight

It's just crappy pathing. I've killed them many times using ranged attack. They proc snare about once a minute and only warped on top of me if I was in a bad pathing area.

I can say with a good deal of certainty that spec parch's do not drop from kaniz ravagers or hunters. I spent 3 levels killing them and in that time got 11 ethereals and no specs. Didn't bother me any, just thought I'd let someone know.
These mobs are level 59. All of them. Always.
Im an enchanter, was here soloing and came across these guys, they dont proc grasping chains (while it was rooted and I was at a distance it was still casting on me), they have no mana (could not mana tap them), they can cast more than once, which they did and when the grasping chains was flashing. So in essence its more like an invintory clicky and a real pain in the butt almost got me killed. I would say grasping chains lasts about 1.5 min and flashes the last 30 sec so probably a refresh time of 1min 15sec

One of these Kaniz mobs also cast bonds of chain... I believe it was. It was a snare... kinda sucks if you have to haul ass from a train.

Must be a proc or some wierd inate ability. The monk kept saying they were casting on her but once in camp i couldnt mana tap em. I would get the message telling me the spell only works on mobs with mana.

They only cast the snare once in battle and after that they can not use it again. So technically I guess they get to "cast" a mana-less spell only once? Because these things will break FD if you are pulling.

Hey squeeks I was thinking the same thing, although not from a message i would never recieve being a Paladanous Exterminatus. But from a tank perspective I have noticed several tier 2 mobs hiting me with a 600hp root that is imediately following a normal hit, for example.
Like a snake that can proc a venom these bad mofo's can proc spell driven affects. Makes them that much more deadly.
