75 sk easy solo no merc just lots of hp
You can check without going through the caves.
On the far side of the hill, (away from river towards hedge) you can float up the wall, then run over to the ledge and check. You can't go up on the ledge, but can get close enough to see.

Awesome, that saves about a 30 min fight solo to get in. :) Can anyone confirm if he still spawns though? I havent seen him in weeks, and I have checked 2-3x per day.
I can confirm he does indeed still spawn, I just killed him less than an hour ago.

Or does someone on Xegony have him on farm status?? Haven't been able to catch him yet, and he is a PITA to get to in order to check unless you are a monk,rogue, ranger, druid.

Killed him tonight - with a 73SK 10kHP's and 2k AC - and a 71Shaman 9kHP's and 6.9kmanna no special gear just all baz'd up and fight took bout 10min or so dropped sword and shoulder piece. lot's of fun!

Soloed him today np.... It was a rather long fight though, approx 8mins in all... Prolly would have went faster with pet and toys etc.... L74sk
Soloed him today. I only had one dot and one nuke loaded and used them sparingly. I wanted to melee him down more than just kill him. Took a little time. When he died I was at 75% mana.

just dropped uncut alexandrite
Anguish geared Necro, I tried him last night and got him down to 7 percent before going OOM. Today, I went back and soloed him after going with a much more mana efficient (though not as high DPS) spell line. Slowed him on pull, dropped him with 33 percent mana left. His max hit was 1132 on me. He did about 110 dps slowed against me. I did about 377,000 damage, but my log parser doesn't tend to get all my pet damage, so I suspect he has about 400K hit points. Fight took 7 minutes and 4 seconds.
I don't know if there is some secret to this mob or if he has been changed but I tried two boxing him today with my SK/Shaman two box. The SK is 71 with 200 aa's with about 2250ac and 9450hp unbuffed, the shaman is 66 with 1 aa and about 5500mana unbuffed. I couldn't get this guy below 98% because his regen was massive and kept going back up to 99 and 100%. When I get going I only do about 300 DPS but at that rate this mobs regen has to be in the region of 1800-2000/tick. The thing that was strange is when I pulled him he insta-gated back to bind in a few minutes with total aggro loss. I went to his spawn point to fight him but gave up after about 5 minutes. His DPS was very low for the time I did spend on him, Balance of the Nihil stuck on the first cast as did Turgur's after a Malos. The only thing he drops worth a crap are the shoulder plates, kind of mute really to kill him these days.

Harm touched imediatly for 1000, 6 pt Damage shield and hit for 500, 600, 1100, 1200, fain deathed and passed on him.

3boxed him in around 10 mins, didnt really time it closely. Get him slowed and pace youself. Mage pet stayed above 90% with just cleric HoT on. Didnt have any chanter buffs on only buffs that the 3 toons I have could provide. Mage(7K m) and shammy(6.5K m) nicely geared(OoW, DoN and Don cultural) and cleric(4.5K m) moderately geared. With Kei would have been a much faster since a lot of the DPS came from shammy canni more m and adding on dots and proc buffs(leopard). Overall, no scares during fight, just took sometime. Pulled him away from spawn point to where i had just killed a nightmare but ended up spending most the fight near his spawn point cuz of pet push(pet hold and repositioned him several times) and the fact i didnt want a nightmare to spawn on top of me. So get him slowed have an alright tank and healer and hack away, sounldn't be a problem.

Long fight through the caves to get to him. Killed him with 1 group, long fight about 30 min, but easy.

Sham malo'd and kept him slowed and Q on the war.
Ranger did trueshot then melee'd with the Berz.
Chanter debuff and nuked.
Cleric sat on the drogmar ch'n war when down to 60%. Only went slightly low on mana once when slow wore off.. but once reslowed.. the cleric with FT15, armor of the zelot and C5 regened it back pretty fast. He was near FM when we finally finished him off. 2 shoulder plates.

He was down last night when I went to sleep around midnight. Then was up when I got home the next day at 2pm. So his repop time is less than 24 hours. I'm guessing 6 or 12.

Almost three groups, no elemental gear, no time gear, don't think any VT gear, and only a small amount of Omens gear. avg level of raid I believe was 63. Took about 15 minutes, took longer to get to him.

Went there today on Maelyn Starpyre Server, we had 8 people. 65 Warrior with 12k hp's an 2k ac. Cleric, Druid, Bard, Beastlord, Paladin(that's me), Rogue, Wizard. Cleared all the way there maybe 30 minutes, not really keeping time. He went down without any problems. Wizard said he had about 500k hp's. Dropped the shoulders, the ring, and the heart.
Well, of course it was easy with a 12k warrior.
We just did him with 8 people, but our tank was a 7500 hp, 1500ish ac SK.
We had 3 clerics, SK, Ranger, BL, Warrior, and enchanter. Started of With CH chain, but ended up slowing the Ch down to the point one would hit before the next would start casting.
Lotta HP, mediocre DPS. No special attacks, just chew him slowly down.

Dont know you did this i went there today with a raid force of 16 and we couldnt get past the damn goblins over the river......
This is to being single seeing double and sleeping tiple.....

Rampages a lot and I don't know if it's AE or not because I was getting it and my pet was getting it. Dropped heart, disembowler, and legs. Very fast regen, almost ridiculous. Can move him away from his spawn point, but he does summon.

the 'dragging corpses above the ledge' thing still works perfectly, I had a guildmate who walked up the ledge somehow various times, no one else could do it, must be some sort of bug as was mentioned earlier.
This mob has very high regen rate, is almost always up(at least on my server), hits for 1100 or so and rampages very often.
You cannot pull him away from his spawn point, as much as we tried to do so, he would gate back every time. He isn't particularly resistant to magic from what I saw, all of my spells landed(enchanter), he is immune to slow.
I would doubt that he can be duo'ed, he could probably be trio'ed but it would have to be people with ungodly good gear.
His regen is insane and he rampages frequently.

10 people just took this out on Saryrn about a half hour ago. I honestly think myself, the tank, and the ranger could've done this alone as a long fight. Our tank had 11k HP and 2k AC and 2 clerics healing. Others there were 2 rangers, 1 druid (myself), 3 rogues, and an enchanter. It rampaged probably 3 - 4 times and we killed it in 5 - 10 minutes. The hardest he hit our tank was in the 400s. Pretty easy fight. Less than what was expected. =) Got my heart for Secrets of the Planes. It also dropped 2 of the Horn Spiked Shoulder Plates. Fun fun.

Myself, and approx. 12 other noble guildmates tried this mob out after a little reading up on him. Thanquolz, im not sayin you are full of it , but , i do not see how 3 lvl 65's and a lvl 56 took this guy out.I've seen stranger, but..... I will give ya this. Your advice on getting peeps up to the ledge worked wonders. I used 2-box rogue with SoS to get to the spot needed, and let one of the clerics kill himself. I dragged him up top, and another cleric below rezzed. Everyone else followed in suit, and let themselves perish at the hands of a gobbie , or 5. Once everyone was up , we buffed and engaged. Sent in the mages pet to take HT , followed by myself, lvl 65 pally. I dunno if this method actually worked or not (if mobs will HT pets) but we lived. At first , i was worried about his regen. It is vindi-like in the aspect of , if you fail to provide DPS, healers are bound to run out of mana. i had 2 clerics CHing me, and 2 dr0ods patch healing.That seemed to suffice. All in all, it did seem a lil easy for the force we had, but i would not have wanted to do it with much less. A well equipped group of 65's would be the minimum i would attempt him with. If you are the avergae player that belongs to an average guild, bring about 10 people to play it safe.

Pally with bardspeed enter PoN and runs immediately to Vhakiz place, using DA after he enters gobbo underwater cave, then makes sure he dies at at the edge of hill, so he can be targeted by cleric and ressed, then Me, ench and cleric pull a mob below hill and make sure we die as near as possible to hill wall, after we are dead we consent the Pally standing on the hill and he pulls up corpses to Vhak´s hill (saving loads of time).
After we all are ressed and buffed we pull nightmares (the horses) and Enchanter charm 1, when horses are dead (except charmed) we pull Vhak, fight takes aprox 7-10 min. Being lvl 56 only, i played a minor part in this, although chanter was grateful for the malosi i casted on his charmed horse and i did close to 20k damage. The 3 of them are able to take this mob without any problem i think.

well because it would take alot longer (remember doing this before corpses pop to GY) and also it would leave 1 live person (the winner of the last duel)
We did it the dueling way, and the last person to die nuked himself to death. Xp loss for one person > xp loss for everyone.

We killed him with a raid of 8, including 2 VoQ clerics and a paladin tank, but it was very close. DPS was lacking. His regen is around 1000/tick, so you need plenty of DPS to beat him down.
Also we inadvertantly discovered that it IS possible to lev over the ledge to get to him without making the mephit cave run. This might be a bug, but don't tell anyone.

so where does this guy spawn in pon ?
He is a leashed spawn just past the mephit cave in the north of the zone.
A Raid of about 20 people average level of 63 had no troubled with him at all. Somewhat of a long battle, but wasn't bad at all, no deaths or anything. Monk took his Harmstouch then FDed and our MT took over.

tried him today with a 17 person raid with an avg level of 61, tank went down in seconds, 2nd tank went down fast as well got him to 70% a few times, gated about 3 times and it CHed him.. all but a few died, depressing

We killed 2 of the glooming nightmare and didn't bother with the rest. Unslowable, went down pretty fast.

I have a question....I may just not be thinkin but...how did a rogue rez the cleric lol...I mean..there is only 1 real way to do that...have the cleric target himself then levi up and float to near the body and stop moving fast enough to get the rez cast started...because you cant cast from the ground up to the hill where the shade is...so..unless you did it like i was talking i dont see it happening..and if you cast rez then drag a body you pop up where rez took place...NOt where body is...they nerfed that way back...

actually you can rez from the hill and have been able to for quite some time. i kite with my bard on the plataeu and can fully buff/rez/heal with my cleric just sitting near the bolders at the top.
Maybe he it was the necro that ran in...Rogues rez % isn't too high last time I checked.

Hello, Killed him today with 1 group of 65's Group was like this:
65 Pal
65 Pal
65 Clr
65 Enc
65 Dru
65 Bard (myself)
Paladins both had slay undead 3 and about 150 other AA points spent.
We got to the plateu and killed off all but one of the gloom nightmares which I pulled to the group and mezzed. Let one of the pallies build up strong secondary aggro with numerous stuns and then chanter Charmed it with CoD (probably wipes aggro list anyway but wanted to be safe). Sent in Pet to take the initial HT and take aggro as we Charged in. Cleric started CH and 4 seconds or so into cast Pally Tank went in. Cleric Chain CH'd on the Main Tank paladin with druid patch healing as they both /disc holyforge. Vhaksiz Rampaged, but very infrequently. after Crippled rampaged even less.
Fight took about 17 minutes and healers came out of it with 40% mana left. Charm from CoD only broke once during the fight, aggroing on the cleric instead of the paladin (LOL).
Keeping them with full druid Damage Shields and Lots of bard DS, manasong going around while watching on pet to mez in place if charm broke: the Fight went rather smoothly and with precision.
All folks in this group were Ele flagged with decent enough gear for the paladins to house about 8k to 8.3k hp in cleric / dru and Shm Buffs (had shm with us for buffs before the fight)

Paladins both had slay undead 3 and about 150 other AA points spent.
We got to the plateu and killed off all but one of the gloom nightmares which I pulled to the group and mezzed. Let one of the pallies build up strong secondary aggro with numerous stuns and then chanter Charmed it with CoD (probably wipes aggro list anyway but wanted to be safe). Sent in Pet to take the initial HT and take aggro as we Charged in. Cleric started CH and 4 seconds or so into cast Pally Tank went in. Cleric Chain CH'd on the Main Tank paladin with druid patch healing as they both /disc holyforge. Vhaksiz Rampaged, but very infrequently. after Crippled rampaged even less.
Fight took about 17 minutes and healers came out of it with 40% mana left. Charm from CoD only broke once during the fight, aggroing on the cleric instead of the paladin (LOL).
Keeping them with full druid Damage Shields and Lots of bard DS, manasong going around while watching on pet to mez in place if charm broke: the Fight went rather smoothly and with precision.
All folks in this group were Ele flagged with decent enough gear for the paladins to house about 8k to 8.3k hp in cleric / dru and Shm Buffs (had shm with us for buffs before the fight)

Our MA went down when he was at about 50% and shortly afterward he warped back to his spawn point, clearing aggro, and basically repopping instantly at 100% health. We were fighting him pretty close to spawn point, just outside exit from goblin caves - I could see his spawn point clearly - and we didn't wipe so there were witnesses to his nifty warp reset. Thus, he's obviously been tinkered with and no longer just sits there on slow regen waiting for everyone to regroup and finish him off.
He HT'd on first pull and rampaged numerous times. Dropped greaves, torque, and heart.

I tanked him the other night and had 3 different effects on me. Can't remember the names though one gave a message along the lines of: "You notice a pool of blood at your feet, you have taken 500 damage". Anyone have some more info on this?

So that would mean he has a PB AE Range 50 for 500DD =)

They must have changed his regen rate. Last night we had 2 groups on him and wiped at 35%. I was able to camp out and relogged about 4 minutes later and he was at 100%. Took him out on second try with 11 people. 65 War tank, 2 65 clerics and one 56 on 4 second CH. 2 65 clerics spot heals. Misc dps. Fight was long but pretty easy - dropped torque and shoulders.

Any mob in pop... If un-aggroed at any time (ie. mem blurr... out of range.. zoned out... died... FD) will regen at several % of its life per tick.
mobs if left unagroed for certain length of time (say after a wipe), will go back to full hp. its unrelated to regen. if you wipe, and get back quick enough to re-engage, you can get him before he resets his hp.
I noticed in PoN, that if everyone is out of agro range, and an injured mob is Mem Blurred, it instantly starts regenerating like crazy. They would jump from 8% to 25% instantly, and then keep regenerating a lot faster than normal.
I'm not sure this is standard for every mob in game, but all mobs do heall a lot faster if they are not agroing someone.

Enchanter note: the horses are CoD charmable and provide an amazing amount of DPS when hasted.

Dropped him w/ 18 people. Avg raid was 63. I'm a 63/paladin w/ 5500hps raid buffed and i tanked him. Make sure to you Fearless disc cause he will attempt to fear you. Had a 2 cleric CH chain along w/ druid spam heals. I used LoH at very beginning of fight till CH chain was going. Max hit i believe was around 900. Rampages. Clear the horses first so you don't get adds. Took about 10mins to kill him. Wasn't a bad fight and was very fun. Dropped the Arms, Legs, heart, SP, EP. Dungeon crawl was boring tho.

What fear proc? There was no attempted fear at all casted when my friend tanked him.
He's an SK - he casts invoke fear periodically. Easily resisted for the most part though.

Took him down with 10ppl, 2 rog, 2 clerics, 2 chanters, 1 mag, 1 bst, 1 warr and 1 necro.
All 65 except a 63 chanty.
It was quite an easy fight, a good ch rotation id needed though: 4 or 5 sec.

did him with 2 groups. 52cleric, 62cleric, 3 65paladins (all had Slay Undead 3), 65warrior, 2 65chanters, 58Shaman, and a bard. Started at the goblin caves and cleared through the memphits (keep right) and out of the cave we came to kill the horses. Had a 65war tank him. He dropped fast (2-3minutes)! I got agro for about 20seconds but he never hit higher than 800 (Rampage). And after talking to the warrior, he said the highest hit was in the 800s (no defensive used). good luck

My guild killed this guy tonight. We had a 3 cleric CH chain and our tank (65 warrior) never got below 30% health. His hits on our tank ranged from about 120 to 1184. More mid 500's than anything. Tank went defensive from the start. We have 3 groups and the hardest part of killing this guy is the trek thru the gobbie caves.
He is located ontop of the hill where the glooms are but you have to go into the gobbie caves to get to him. There is no way up top. We cleared the gobbies at the cave entrance and went in under the water.
Dropped shoulders, legs, heart and spec parch.

What is the loc of where he spawns and how do you get there? Also I was curious where would you see him on track? zone in close enough and if not then where?

Level 60 ranger in my guild tracked him from zone in last night, so yes, it is possible to track him from zone in.
He spawns on the big plateau to the right of the goblin caves. As has been said, you have to go through the goblin caves to get to him.

I suggest doing to with more ppl then 10....i would say 15 it makes a much bigger difference.He isnt slowable but he doesnt hit very fast....CH rotation should be small and have other healers spot heal.

Took him down recently with 10 ppl. We had a 3 person CH rotation going. cleric/ahaman/druid did the rotation. I think they ran about 3-5 seconds depending on if defensive was running or not. Total raid makeup was 60 druid, 65 cleric, 60 ranger, 55 monk, 63 shaman, 55 beastlord, 65 monk, 65 enchanter, 65 warrior, and 60 paladin. He hits hard (double 1100's max), but he's not that bad to take. If your tank drops, or if ppl are running LoM, just run for the dropoff wall. He'll pursue for a while, then he resets back to his spawn point. Drag any corpses, rez, rebuff, and go after him again asap. He doesn't regen hitpoint very fast. We had to use the rinse/recycle once. Had him at 45% when the tank dropped, when we went back in he was only at 55%. Deaded Shade =) He dropped the Blackened Metal Greaves, Flame Engraved Torque, and an ethereal parchment for us. Hope this helps anyone who's looking to try him in the future.

We took him out today with 11 people, and it took us three tries to get it done. (Mostly because one of our clerics was a bit new, and we didn't have much dps.) This battle requires strong healing. Our group was: 65 pal (tank) 65 mnk 65 rog 65 enc 65 shm 65 mag 65 dru 65 dru 65 clr 62 clr 47 clr. Here's the data:
He has about 250,000+ HPs. Doubles, max single hit is 1184. Rampages rarely, but it's dangerous when he does. Summons, does not enrage. He is a level 65 SK. Didn't log the harm touch, so not sure on that one. He cannot be slowed. He is indeed undead.
You have to fight this guy where he spawns. If you pull him away, he will run for a bit then warp back to his spawn point and clear aggro. His unaggro'd regen rate is very slow. We were able to get him to 8%, wipe, rez, rebuff completely, and he was only up to 26%. We killed him easily from there.
Strat is simple: We used a 5 second CH rot with one druid and shaman patching, and the enchanter runing on pull. From there, focus on damage. You obviously have to keep the tank healed, but your healers will definitely run out of mana if you don't have enough dps to take him down fast.

Just to add to the data, harm touch from a level 65 is 1151 damage. If you don't believe me go say hi to one of the level 65 skellies guarding PoN B. Considering this mob's damage, the HT is negligible. Please confirm =)

2 months after my previous post I came back and actually tried the mob ( hooray for first hand info ). Confirmed harm touch of 1151. Max hit 1184. Resisted every spell he cast on me so might as well be a pure melee mob. Easy to tank defensive...tanked ok with one cleric healing ( spam from shammy ). Not enough dps to get the job done but I'd say it'd be cake with 8-10 people instead of the 6 we had.

Not hard anymore. Once you get a good technique down, this guy can be farmed. We have a 2boxer with someone on top of that plateau. When Vhak is up, call goes out and we can get enough people on top and ready in about an hour.
Really need about 3 Clerics in 6sec CHEAL rotation, decent tank and enough DPS. We used a Gloom Nightmare to engage, let the Gloom get down to about 10% health while Shamans and Wizzy debuffed. Got Vhak down to about 90%, we moved in, 3-4 min fight, no losses with 18 people, can be done with less.
This was our 2nd time killing Vhaksiz, we've gotten 3 Horn Spiked Shoulder Plates, 2 hearts, and 1 Disemboweler.
Also, this guy's Regen is pathetic, so if you wipe, just regroup quick and hit him again.

Me and two groups of guildies trudged through the tunnels to get to the plateau for an hour only to find that a group of 65's killed themselves and summoned corpses to skip the tunnel content and grab our kill. Wow... so this is the high end game eh?
