As a 51 troll SK, here's how I'm farming faction with these guys.
1) Get some good buffs so that I'm around 3-4k hitpoints and a C3 2) Get a damage shield potion - will last about 5 minutes and does 26 point DS 3) Have some kind of extra regen going (iksar BP for me) 4) Jump down the well, bouncing from ledge area to ledge area and aggroing everything on your way down
By the time you get to the bottom, you will have just about every RyGorr in the place on you - just start killing them as fast as you can, the DS will cut them down to size for you and the C3 is so that you can chain lifetap in between your Spear spells.
Maker sure that there is no one else in the area when you do this though or you will kill them if they aren't ready for it or they are an legit XP group.
In the last patch they fixed the bug about the faction hits. You now get positive faction hits for killing the orcs! The hits aren't all that large though and its going to take a long time to get it up. I killed about, oh, 50 with a friend and have yet to go up from dubious to apprehensive.

There are several ways to get to buy/sell with these folks.
1. Worship Brell. They understand religion and if you're a Brell Serilis worshipping dorf, gnome, or halfling, they like you enough due to that alone that you can deal with them.
2. Be an enchanter or bard. Faction modifying spells and songs work wonders.
3. Sneak. Monks, rogues, and halflings all know the benefits of sneak. Sneak is your friend.
4. Faction. This is the hardest of the ways. It will take you quite a while, since the only way to gain faction is by turning in the book from Sarl to Baeneck, and Baenek despawns when you do it and doesn't respawn for 4 hours.
I've done the book part of the quest about 11 times or so (lost count.) When I do the quest Sarl respawns in a fairly short period of time, but the historian takes forever to respawn. I usually have to come back the next day to redo the quest. Just wondering, does anybody know of a way to make the historian spawn faster once you've handed him the book?
Since this is a great place to farm crystalline silks to get tailoring from 115-131 I Knew I'de be here a while. I decided to keep doing the book delivery quest til I was able to deal with the merchants. Acording to my notes, it took 21 deliveries to become apprehensive. At 50pp a pop the total cost was 1050pp just to sell to the merchants. I hope this helps.
I believe that everyone starts out as dubious to Citizens of Frostone. The only way I know of improving your Frostone faction is the "Book to Historian Baenek" quest.
I guess what I'm saying is, are you sure you were apprehensive earlier?
Ok a little clarification on book. You do not need to go thru the whole process to receive book and faction. You can give 500pp to him when he is in the Hall and he will still give you the book. I have confirmed this.
Also, I would not attempt this just to gain faction. I have spent over 1000pp now attempting to raise the faction and doing the Ghost quest. My faction has changed from being apprehensive.
drop 2k mate how i first did it an then findining out now jsut kilin dem ry gor snow orcs asies it really fast lol im indifferent an soon hope to b allied so when geos actually are open i wont jsut get the 200pp for chipped diamond ill get 250+ from what im told by a friend who had cha near 250 with items i hit 255 cha an spell from shamman or chanter is nice makes easier less toys to keep in bank

My experience was different. Once, when I couldn't find Sarl in the usual places (park or wandering around) I found him in the library. I gave 50 pp and got nothing. When I said "black" to Sarl, he bent over as if looking for a book, and gave a little speech. When I gave another 50pp I got the book. I suggest saying "black" wherever you find Sarl before giving the 50pp.
Ok -- I have now turned in the book obtained in Thurgadin from Lorekeeper Sarl three times. (50 pp per pop) I have not, however, seen a noticable change in my faction to elevate me beyond dubious. Does anyone have any information on how many times this trek back and forth needs to be attempted? Further, I have been unable to determine how long it takes for the Historian, who despawns when you turn in the book, to re-pop.

The Guard captain (whose name escapes me now) asks the standard routine of "are you passing through or do you wish to stay". When you say that you wish to say he speaks of all the work thee is to do defending the keep but I can find no word to trigger a faction quest. Ive turned in a krezendian crystal (orc drop) and balls of velium (spider drop) with no success (didnt know what else these might be for). Im going to try everything that drops. If anyone finds a quest from this guy, please post it here. I'm quite sure one was intended to be here although it might be broken.
One NPC named Tacy Mistheart states that her true love left with the others. I ran around in Thurg and Icewell asking every NPC several variations of: "Do you know Tacy Mistheart", "Who is Tacy Mistheart", etc. with no luck. If you see another Mistheart coldain then post it here please. Thanks
I just cant seem to win.... at 40+ i was able to bank in CC now at 52 im dubious. I have never taken a swing at the guards or any person that would lower my faction there. So, I'm not sure what the deal is there. :( The dragon book for 50pp is the only quick way i know to raise faction there but it is an exspensive route.

take the book from the Lorekeeper in Thurg (costs 50pp) to Historian Baenek in CC gives CitizensOfFroststone faction, the first known way to raise this faction for those of you that can't sneak and use the merchants there.
i was checking through the names in Thurgadin and Frostone based on what is listed here. and, i norticed that only one NPC has the same last name in both citys. The Coldhearts. maybe there`s a connection between them somehow.
I have killed coutless giants in EW and GD. None have inproved my faction down here. THey tolerate my DE Cleric (Innoruk) but will not sell to me. At least I can bank :) I wonder if Verant just forgot to add some mobs or quests that would raide this faction? hehe. Woudn't surprise me.
Read on another post about these guys that you might be able to raise faction with these dwarves by killing Giants in EW. Not GD or Thurgadin. I'm going to try this soon. Carrying too much and not being able to sell kinda sucks :b

in my 40's, I was apprehensive, now I am dubious. I have never attacked anything that gives a faction hit toward "Citizens of Frostone".
Why am I dubious?
